Fafnir will be there for big burst damage because Point Blank + Wave = big numbers
Front Guard works just as well in the back row

How you want your monster design, pham?

I think parties that rely on probability are much more fun than parties that rely on damage.
I have one party that will usually win a fight, through classic tactics like guarding and healing but it takes a long time.
I have another that relies on probibility of certain atacks hitting/ailments/binds.
The latter gets it done faster and it feels great when your enemy is a literal cripple.

The coding. It's not as easy as you think, since the texts are encrypted, so you have to reverse engineer it to figure out the algorithm that you need to use when inserting your own text. Aside from that, if the resulting translation is bigger than the original (extremely likely), you have to move a bunch of pointers, either for the text, or for the other parts of the game. And even if you manage to do that, there will be a bunch of glitches that you need to fix manually, sometimes even game breaking glitches despite you changing only the text.

All in all, it takes too much effort and time.

Monk tips:

Fist monk is terrible for damage until postgame unless you equip the Yagrush made from the first stratum boss' conditional and leave your first armor slot empty for a "free hand". Eventually you might be able to do more damage unarmed after retire bonuses and/or feeding it all the str books you can find. Curse Fist is the only means of inflicting curse through skills, though you're probably better off using a Formaldehyde since that move is garbage, stick to Breakfire Fist if you want damage. Counters are also lame, you use the paralysis fist if you need the ailment for a conditional.

You don't need a lot of points in healing skills, so feel free to grab a few since Breakfire is the only attack you need a lot of points in. The passive for gaining TP activates even if a beast or ninja clone dies from damage, but not if returned through other means(i.e. Tagen Battou) so that can be used as a TP resource in some cases.

Damage floors are in two areas of the game, you might prefer just using the items to deal with those.

Yeah, on an unrelated note, Cestus in EOV is pretty much a glass cannon, the bind focused one can be pretty useful for shutting down certain kinds of threats though, and I love dirt cheap Rush Out is for the damage you can do with it if you get a lot of hits in prior to its activation. Not as big of a fan of the designs in that game though so I just used an ordinary humanoid and bunny girl for the ones I added to the guild.

Poison wont do much damage (around 110 damage on expert) but it is reliable as fuck with its 4 TP cost and enemies little resist to poison
Confusion Dust has a hefty 20 TP cost, but it hits every target and has a chance to be useful on ambushes or large groups of enemies
Trick Step 10 + level 10 grimoire is almost cheating, if you land a blind as well its just why even
Heal Guard is for Bert when he uses Hit Taker, also have Bert with Loyalty/shield mastery as well as Speed Up, the added damage reduction as well as the little heal is gravy
And even sometimes when something has little to no resistant to an ailment, Curb ATK Up 10 + level 10 grimoire helps, and Perseverance(dark hunter skill) also stacks the odds

Carry around an Analysis Scope (or use the internet) to find out boss ailment weaknesses to maximize Ailment Flavio

I just picked up EO2U the other day and I have no idea which classes have got synergy with which classes, how team composition should work and what I should watch out for in this game. Also, what are some ways to cheese/break the game? I want some goal to work towards.

for expert you'll ideally want one healer (medic, wm or princess) and one tank (protector or beast) and two dedicated attackers. the third one should either be another attacker or a utility class like hexer or survivalist or troub

troub can probably heal by herself but that's more trouble than it's worth for a new player

Link order is great when she doesn't have to buff, which is most of the turns.
Usually you won't be sprending many points on support skills since most of them are either useless or extremely niche.

You can go without a tank, but that party is quite squishy... you'll want a salve grimoire for your princess as soon as you can get it, If you ever need to go back and get a tank, the worst of your attackers will be the ronin since they don't unleash their potential until the 5th stratum or so (meanwhile, you will want to focus on ONE stance) and even then they probably won't outclass DH or gunner.

Standard and expert are fancy names for normal and hard.

If i remember correctly, on expert enemies take less damage, do more damage, and are more resistant to ailments. Additionally, on standard you have the option to try again after game overs once per expedition.

Standard is pretty easy, especially with grimoire. If you are pretty casual and don't want frequent game overs then go with standard, but I think the game is way more engaging on expert, and a better experience.

yeah, pretty much learned that shortly after. made the mistake of only putting 4 points in cause i didn't wanted the increased cost and thought those 20 points of damage wouldn't be an issue. That didn't get me far.
got one more level and put the 5th point into ice wall. And pretty much spammed it once he was below 50% since he was pretty random with his flood and sometimes did it twice in a row.

Looking at the rest of the game, I'm convinced the only reason lolimancer exists and we don't have two copypasted boobymancers is because she probably was the first (or second, or third) character to be designed.
