Considering how flat Jack was as a character I think the game would've been better off with just calling the main character "Rifleman/Riflewoman" and let them be a mute character. You would still have dialogue options BT would reply to but your lines wouldn't be voiced. I don't buy it. It's the connection you see built between Cooper and BT that really ties the entire singleplayer together. If one-half of those encounters aren't voiced, it doesn't feel fully realized. The campaign would not be as beloved as it is if BT was just talking to himself.

Cooper was a bland neo-Troy Baker "white male" sounding motherfucker. If they could've expanded on the fact that he was a bottom-tier grunt, and thus was pretty inexperienced, that would've been cool, but it's just a throwaway plot device to train you in the beginning on the game mechanics.

The campaign was great because of level design, game mechanics, and platforming. It is almost great DESPITE the shitty story.

It's better to use RMB if a titan is close to you. Throwing tripwire in his face and blasting splitter rifle alt will be more efficient than saving for two shots of laser

Splitter Rifle is already more than powerful enough. Stop wasting all your energy on Laser Shot and you'll find Splitter Rifle to be putting out a ton more damage when you get up in someone's face in zoom mode.

Laser Shot doesn't need a damage nerf, it needs a small energy cost increase.
If it is bumped up slightly above 500 energy cost, it will add a longer delay between firing two consecutive Laser Shots (which is currently only one second).
If the energy cost were 550, the delay between two laser shots would be about 2.5 seconds

You need to add it as a command line option from Origin's game options. You can add them from Origin > TF2 settings > Game Properties > Advanced Launch Options

Got this game today in attempt to escape my crippling depression
It's been fun, I played the campaign for a few hours and have enjoyed it so far. I've been able to play at max settings very well but after trying my first multiplayer match I was suddenly falling well under 20fps and it was a complete fuckfest, even after lowering the graphics significantly.
I'm using an RX480 and an i5 6500, when looking at frame rate tests on Youtube they all seem to be fine at max. Is there some setting I shouldn't have on? Not sure what to do

L-STAR has a fixed, unchanging spread of one degree, hip or sighted.
Sighted "recoil" (in this case, it's nothing but an animation, it has no effect on accuracy) pushes the weapon model far down on the screen, even though the projectiles still travel straight towards the center of the screen.

After you release the trigger, there's a long delay of about 0.6 seconds before you can shoot again. Meaning don't tap fire, let loose.
The L-STAR has a really shitty "cooldown" rate given its capacity of only 35-40 rounds. After that 0.6 second delay (and a bit more), the L-STAR regenerates 9 rounds per second. Delay and regen combined, it'd take about 4.3 seconds total to regen 34 rounds and return to cool.

If you break it with overheating, it's a hard six second reload. The worst of pretty much any gun in the game. Fast Reload does NOT speed up the ammo regen either, only the empty overheated reload (meaning it ends up being quicker than letting it cool if you're in the warning range.

A weird quirk of the gun, when you bring it down to just before its overheat point, you can not fire it for an extended period of time beyond the 0.6 second delay. It can NOT fire unless there are at least nine shots in the gun.

Projectiles are pretty damn slow, but they're the size of basketballs. Lead a lot, spray liberally.
Fire from the hip. Ignore sights entirely.

i view flight core as more of a utility skill than a core like other titans. its definitely not something you want to pop as soon as you get it like salvo or laser core. you have to wait for the right moment.
dont use it out in the open if you know there are enemy titans/pilots around. ADS to help aim the missles a bit better, and lead the shots a bit. goes without saying, but try to get the drop on the enemy, pop it and try to fly directly over them so they have to do a 180 to track you.
you may want to save it for a titan already low on hp so you can guarantee the kill and minimize damage to yourself.
viper thrusters will enhance the speed greatly, especially if you dash before you pop it. with viper thrusters(and without, to a lesser extent) you can use it defensively to dodge attacks like laser core and even salvo core.
main thing is to use it on low hp enemies and fly above them in a way that makes them have to turn their camera the most. or just use it defensively.

Guys, I've learned how to slidehop, chain wallruns, and manuver around maps fairly well. (My aim could use improvement, though.)
Now how do I apply that to a console setting where every slow has insane amounts of aim assist and use annoying meta guns? I usually place in the top of my matches, but I still get really annoyed when I get killed by someone that's just sitting on a rooftop a mile away aiming down sights. I try to maneuver arond behind cover and mainly stick to the air when I'm playing, but I still end up getting killed. Is death just unavoidable? Is there a specific way to go fast that I'm just not doing correctly?

was messing around in a private match and i think i finally found a use for that cold war animation cancelling bug that allows you to quick fire 1 projectile followed by the full 4 shots. not spectacular i think, but i can see it being useful for flanking an unaware pilot.

wind up a shot and immediately fire your ordnance before the cold war dispels the shot(gravity star/arc nade for this, but any will work in theory.) and then immediately queue up another shot. really easy to do, much easier than the grapple thing or mantling.
