It's a matter of perspective. AA2 is not the same game today as it was on release. They could easily release a game that is slightly better than AA2, but AA2 has been vastly expanded by mods. Not just cosmetic mods, but mods which massively expand the experience.

So they are competing with modded AA2. It isn't that hard to fail, considering its illusion we are talking about. A company notorious for taking two steps forward and two steps back.

IF. Look, I want the next artificial game to be good as much as you do but it's Illusion. They could shit out something that looks like this, has watered down "open world" gameplay and glitches out the arse.

So yeah, maybe it'll be the best thing since sliced bread, but from my experience AA2 is the only Illusion game that just took something which wasn't bad and made it better in every way. Everything else has been "give with one hand, take with the other" and I'm tempering my expectations accordingly just so I won't be suckered in by the famous illusion grief cycle.

I am not trying to hype you up. We still don't know when they're gonna finish milking HS so any AA3 discussion is just us fantasizing about wanking to a game that lets us fantasize about fucking anime girls. I do believe that it's gonna be an anime game since the last one was Seccrossphere and that one was announced about a year ago and looked pretty great imo. What would be a bummer is if the next anime game is not an artificial title which, now that I think about it, is actually pretty probable.
We can be sure it's gonna be on Unity so the modding is gonna be way easier and it'll perform better so more stuff is gonna be possible (Seccross DLC had a full-blown orgy).
There are reasons to be hopeful once they announce anything is coming. The only 'unfixable' thing they can do is the art style but their only decent team is working on it.
If you want to be a pessimist try listing where they can realistically fuck up so we can enjoy the things we have while we still have them.

For the poser to be more flexible it would be a nice addition to force load a specific .xx file as 3D room. For instance, an alternative .xx file would be set in the poser and it would be loaded the next time the room is changed.
