Personally I'd say we needed a modern recreation rather than a carbon copy, but not too different like Alpine is. A forge world 2.0, if you will. Larger, somewhat more varied landscape. Emphasizing some of the smaller locations that had a neat aspect to them. Like the areas just above the canyon, if they had been fleshed out into larger more intricate landscapes. Inside the huge cave could have been slightly smaller branching cave systems on the sides. The rocky end of the canyon by the cave could have been expanded into another mountain are similar to the Island. The Island's mountain could have been partially hollow so you can build custom interior caves, forerunner facilities, or a volcano. Make it easily forged into the original version, of course.

Anyone remember 1-Flag CTF from 4?

The gamemode itself was pretty straightforward but my fucking god it made me lose faith in humanity.

A friend and I used to do this straightforward strategy where at the start of the game we would both push the middle flag. We'd take the area and then 1 of us would take the flag back to the base but instead of capping it, just hide. The other person would stay at the flag spawn point and would only signal to the other person to cap the flag when it was all clear. The flag would cap, the player at the spawn point would instantly take the new flag and we would switch positions.

In theory it was a flawless strategy to win 1-Flag every time and we did win a lot. Except for one problem.

Our teammates.

Like fucking cavemen they would follow the flag carrier back to base and when they saw they weren't going to cap it, they'd start trying to betray them. It literally couldn't fucking compute in their brains that we were doing a beneficial strategy. They just wanted to cap as fast as possible which of course means the other team would take the next flag.

Fuck you Bungie and 343 for making friendly fire a thing.

I fucking suck at blitz.

I'm trying my best to find that E3 2003 Halo 2 live demo footage.
Yes, there are some videos on YT, but it's either a good(ish) quality footage or one recorded purely off screen, but with audience reactions.
Thing is, I need that specific one, with mostly direct feed footage with audience being heard in the background.
Pretty sure Bungie used to use parts of that footage on several occasions, I can't find it anywhere though.

I think the gunplay is fine in campaign. The MP not so much. Pistol rules and there's nothing you can do about it which renders everything outside the rockets and sniper useless. Playing it regularly online has highlighted this to me.

If you want quicker leveling for those packs in Blitz beta; spam the tutorial. 700XP each time and takes about 3-5 minutes each time, works out to be much quicker than playing 3 matches (even if you manage to 200-0 quickly)

Map design per se is shitty sometimes. Endless loops of the same room oer and over happen. Think Library.
It's still enjoyable though. There's gameplay variety that reshuffles the rules exactly when routine and boredom kicks in. Gunplay is decent as well.
Finally a game where shotgun is not a melee weapon.
