Theres literally no reason to lock a job's access behind the MSQ. Sure you can lock it by owning the expansion itself, but it was a blunder to place the new jobs in expansion areas. Luckily they are fixing this with Stormblood. I cant think of other MMOs that do this.

As someone who actually played mmos in the 90s they didn't have anything like the retarded fucking unlock system in ffxiv. Sure there were plenty of grinds but unless Everquest, which I didn't play (I played UO and asherons call), locked every single piece of content in the game behind a quest, this sort of stuff didn't really exist back then.
