Muzzle flash doesn't have enough range to be useful.
I believe enemies have to be within the range of SS for staggering shield to do anything, and usually you'd dump range anyway.
Just put as much range as you can get while still keeping drain low. Prefer duration over efficiency for capping drain, since that means less recasting of SS/SG.

There are actually times that using physical damage mods is fine, like Primed Heavy Trauma and/or Collision Force on War or Fanged Fusillade on Dread.

Generally speaking though it's better to use 90% elementals to get the better combo elements like Viral or Corrosive going instead though.

The Venka Prime Sucks balls because it has No Range with Bad animations. You can be in a crowd of enemies swinging away and still lose your Hit Combo because you cant hit anything. pointlessly swinging as the animations some how put me on top of the enemies heads but not the weapon through them.

Made the infested survival sortie a hassle. So instead i stood in a corner and fired away. Its probably a great weapon for Mag.

If you still need sentients for the junctions, you could try more balanced builds/weapons or go with banshee if you can survive against them using her; just jump a lot. Also, if you have Madurai, you can use the beam to deal some extra damage to them. I used to kill stalker like that when I wanted to use shitty weapons and did not gave a shit about his drops so I did not wanted to carry a especific loadout for that. I think I also killed sentients with it. I dont know if redoing the second dream will count on the sentients shits because wiki says it should be on Lua but I dont remember killing that many there, so Im not sure about this.

What are you getting 8.25 from?
A 5% base weapon with point strike becomes 12.5% with point strike. With 3x combo and blood rush this becomes 74.375, and with Naramon it becomes 97%. So even though you spent 2 mods on crit (not including combo duration mods), you still have nothing to boost your crit multi, so on a 1.5x multi weapon you're looking at 2 mods spent for 50% more DPS which is terrible. AND that's only with 3x combo, which takes some time to work up.

I use +75% power strength molecular prime. Everything else is in slow motion, so I don't really have to care. I just clear everything in my immediate area, and everything else is so slow that the sentients will be dead before the next wave makes it around the corner.
