1. traders get free mining headsets on their outposts, so they are often eavesdropping on :u and :n
2. traders will sell you jetpacks if you hail them over comms
3. if a trader shows up out of nowhere on the roid while you are mining and tries to sell you a jetpack, they are a changeling and you are almost certainly about to die
4. traders are technically valid as soon as they commit a crime, but if you kill a trader for breaking interior windows in the mining outpost, so they can process ore, your a dick (if they depressurize obviously kill them)
5. traders often grab the salvage shuttle, and are usually willing to sell it
