Not if it's new content, leagues are fun and all but what really breathes new life into the game are new acts. Leagues didn't even used to exist besides the hardcore and the normal one in the beginning, when they wanted to do something different they used to just make races, which not only had huge modifiers, unlike the retarded breach and essence leagues, but they also offered permanent bonuses to your character like currencies.


Now everything is trivialized, from using skills since mp regeneration is so simple, to leveling up a new character to the cap level. Before you had to invest a huge time and effort in getting uniques, items and even skill gems.

No because I theorycraft any build and make sure it's not shit before I actually make it

The only thing that needs fixing in this game is Vaal Pact and a slightly increased drop rate for high tier items.

Vaal Pact is just obscenely good to the point where makes no sense to not take it unless you have to spec on the other side of the tree.

Making currency in this game is an all-or-nothing deal where if you get lucky and find an ex early on, you just steam roll while if you get fucked by RNG and hit level 80 with only a couple chaos you just grind it out for days to finally get started on your build.

Totems or summoners. Easy leveling, can stay hybrid for a long time, switch to CI for end game.

Then you have the classic builds like ED, SRS, ele attack builds, Iron Will spellcasters, etc. who are easy to gear and do well on a 4-5L.

Ripped my 89 shield charge facebreaker slayer to an ice nova box with increased AOE.

I really liked the build though, and I definitely could have taken it further. Absolutely destroyed breaches. Decent evasion with 50% block and 48% regen per second from leech is incredibly tanky.

Is there any merit to potentially trying a gladiator version? Tradeoffs are sizeable but I'm not sure, seems like it gains a ton of damage and trades its bleed immunity and leech regen for a bit more block, a lot more spell block, and some extra reduction from endurance charges. Could cap block/spell block with the red nightmare as well. Could even drop great old one's ward for surrender to be even cheekier.

The irony for me is that the only reason SSF is sooooo popular, is that the base game has become this insane loot explosion, quantity turned up to 11 pinata fest.

The only reason SSF is truly possible on a long term basis are all of these ridiculous changes along with truly over powered master tiers that can be placed on items.

How so? 1% melee damage per 5 STR, melee nodes are extremely efficient, rustic sash recipe carries early game hard, Hatred, Herald of Ash, Ancestral Warchief are huge damage multipliers non-physical spellcasters don't have access to, I'd argue melee or attack builds in general generally fare better than spellcasters on SF gear early on, only the progression is sometimes a bit streakier than having a constant +10% more damage every 3-4 levels

I turned it to super strict for poorjoys rotations but now when I change it back to semi-strict which I normally use (I like doing chaos/regal recipes sometimes when Im not powerfarming) it does that yellow border around blues which I never got before and hides basically every single rare, even a lot of the good base ones. the problem with ssf is now what are they gonna do about trade? if they release an ah, they'll have to totally rebalance the game because everyone will have much better gear. so drop rates will go way down and they'll have to make monsters much tougher, again as a result of the ah giving everyone much better gear. basically this would totally fuck over ssf play. as it sits now ssf is in a good spot i think totally viable but not many would play if this happens.

so now i wonder what they'll do about trade?

Only yesterday i got my first T1 drop this league - on a third char - Taste of Hate from an overfilling Breach.

All i have to show for this league are 2 exalts, 2 divines and ToH as drops.

All of my chars were geared by selling fusings to chaos and chaos recipe. Vorici and Elreon are MVMs, with Zana being lifeblood for mapping and map supply for Atlas.
