what's a healer that doesn't overheal a lot? trying to get into healing and had a moderately geared balance druid, so I just switched to resto
it's fun and relatively easy but I find that I'm not letting my rejuv and shit do their job and always trying to top people off after throwing hots on them
I like the idea of disc priest, negating damage instead of healing it and also doing a bit of dps but I feel like I might run into the same problem and "overheal" (overnegate?)

any tips for a new healer? don't care about leveling a new char, got a 100 boost available

This is why i hate raidhealing in pugs rly, people are legit overhealing for like 200k on pull when there's literally nothing to heal besides having a HoT on tank, then they OOM when you actually need to heal and you catch up but then the other healers mana pot/innervate raidheal and pad even more numbers and even tho 50% of their healing is from overheal it still looks like you are slacking compared to them from the numbers alone which is all people look at like holy FUCK

I have dozens of characters and I still prefer leveling through questing
but I don't try to make new characters just to get them to max level, because that seems like a waste and the wrong way to treat the game
I try to just enjoy a new class and use their abilities in the world

Blizzard doesn't know what to do with the wealth of lore that's available to them. They have so much shit to work with, so many plot threads and potential storylines, and they fuck it up every. single. time.

Read the Chronicle. Look at all the backstory between Helya, Odyn, the titans, and so on. Think about all the potential stories that could be translated into the game. All those interesting quests that could explore their backstory, providing interesting and new context going forward. Instead, Helya is a generic evil "destroy all mortals muahahah" villain who we kill and then forget about entirely.

Also, if you had only followed the story as delivered to you through the game itself, would you have any idea just how important Xavius was? The dude is basically responsible for the War of the Ancients, which is the absolute framework for this entire expansion. There's so much room to make him an interesting source of lore for a really neat context-driven story. But instead, he's just another mustache-twirling villain.

Blizzard just sucks at writing. But what else is new?
