Kanami got an AOE attack a bit earlier but it's really weak, I don't even know why it has a charge time. Does she ever become useful? Not even her crazy high evasion seems to help her.

What's the point of Copandon, her aoe is weak and has the potential to backfire, I don't get her.

Rizna has high magic and can even buff it but she herself doesn't seem to have any actual spells, does she get another upgrade where her buffs apply to a line or whole party?

The most important thing is that you really need two parties for Rance VI. One to explore and other characters to bring in for the big fights.

Kanami always attacks first and her shuriken has a stun so she's pretty good. She also has an insanely high evasion so you can use her as a tank as long as it's not against mages.

She's not bad if you get the items that increase her luck, since you can spam a good AoE without charging. She's not great though.

She has high magic resistance and deals pretty good damage. Her buffs can be upgraded to work on the whole party.

I'd never use it for Sengoku or a game like Fire Emblem where resource scarcity creates replay value since you need to choose which character you focus and stuff, but VI and a lot of RPGmaker eroge have moments where you just need to mindlessly grind in order to get events and for that stuff it just saves time.
