Unstable or slow internet connection, running 2 firewalls at once (the Windows firewall and another firewall in your antivirus program - make sure the antivirus does not have it enabled), not allowing RustClient.exe through your Windows firewall (make sure it is allowed), problems with your internet router, try another if you have access to any extra routers. Sometimes this error just disappears on its own. If nothing above worked, wait a while and try again. Or wait for the next Rust update/patch to be released and see if that fixes it.

This game pisses me off. You waste hours just getting wood or stone, then die when you get a build restriction and lose the lot. Why bother.

Officials are full of hackers because there's no active admins. A lot of the high pop community servers are really competitive though. I'd recommend finding a medium/low pop vanilla server for any beginners

What are the best PvP settings for minimal grass and cover for enemy players?

Game looks great on highest settings but I keep getting my brains blown out through grass that should be there, yet isn't on most peoples screens. I can only assume it's a LoD/clutter setting.

It's 2017 they really should force a LoD to keep things fucking fair.

Never use these weapons in situation that you can handle with the bow

If you're a decent shot then the semi auto/AK/Thompson/Custom SMG are all good choices for close to medium range combat.

The bow and crossbow can be deadly if you land solid body/headshots

If your aim isn't great, the pump action shotgun/python tend to be a bit more forgiving

P250 (semi auto pistol) is by far the best "bang for your buck" weapon in the game even after multiple nerfs. DO NOT make a python, Springs are one of the hardest components to gather when trying to build an arsenal (5+ aks.)

For solo/new players raiding just make 8 satchel charges and try to find a base with only one air lock and sheet metal doors.

Not trying to be rude but for a solo player crafting any smg seems like a waste. The p250 is arguably better than any smg with practice and recycling smg bodies is a good way to increase your HQM supply which is usually low when playing solo
