Solars by default only just barely falls short. It's easy to bring it in rande or just match with the starter AME
You can do a 12 minute low flow teg that provides power for ~2 hours off your starter cans and an additional hour per can of mix you run over.
AME works fine, build it closer, run it through the smes and whenever you pass by to grab shit chuck a jar in it
That's because 95% of the playerbase can't build literally anything let alone following a short guide that amounts to assemble a 7x7 or 5x5 pen, put in h/e pipes, assemble the injectors, secure the gyros, prime the teg pipes, then inject fuel in the default ratio and fire the gyros up to get fuckhuge temps to run into a overpressure teg for giggawatts which can be done in <30 mins at cargo (right around when the smes have died off), once you get your crew on point over multiple rounds or just be a mommi/captain you can do it yourself.

For the default sme setup, slap the plasma in the teg cold loop, replace the H/E pipenet to the freezer pipenet and link the waste to the h/e-freezer pipenet.. resecure and turn off the scrubbers and vents. Put in 2 nitrogen 1 oxygen canister and turn on the freezers. Open up the vents and set 1 scrubber to siphon. Emitter the shard open, turn it off and go home.

You can push the sme to 6mw per collector on the shard

Remember to move your money into your bank account and use the hand tele and a beacon to zap 35 sing gens into the sing containment, spread them out, secure them, and then fire up the PAC. They'll all grow to stage 3/4 if you leave it up and you'll be getting >40mw per collector.

I do get annoyed when people expect me to do chemist and cryo stuff when I joined up as a surgeon. Like, I can cut up bodies, not the rest of the crap.
Although, if a SURGEON related issue came up and I had fucked off, then I'd whole heartedly agree with the Captain as I was shot out the mass driver.
It's a mentality that annoys me, that the Clown is expected to know how to do chemistry AND set up the engines in a pinch. I get we're not strict RP but a bit of acknowledgement that just because you're in medbay or RD doesn't mean you have to or know how to do every bit in RD/Medbay.

In a hospital, you wouldn't let the medical doctors do surgery, you let the fucking surgeons do surgery.
A medical doctor on the /vg/ station is expected to be able to do the Chemists job, the Geneticist's job, and the Surgeon's job all in one go. And in such a strict time before the ghosts start hammering on the lightbulbs.
If I join up as Surgeon, I shouldn't be expected to revive people back to life. I should know basic fucking First aid, but as of the moment everyone on the station expects everyone in medbay to be quick as fuck machines getting them back to life on their own.
And once that starts happening you're thrown in the cloning machine just to save time. The Wild Ride is because of people who expect so much from the title Medical Doctor.

The difference is one is just a fancier name and surgery is a job that takes time away from doing anything else in medbay and would benefit from being it's own job role. Like expecting Toxins man to sort out the Virologist issue quickly, they're seperate roles cause they take time up and one man can't possibly sort everything in RD out in one go.
