None of the talents this time around were particularly obscure, though, besides maybe Ouma's (which is an exaggeration on his part anyway and is probably closer to thief/criminal/con artist/something else of the sort).

Plus, there's plenty of sports, academic studies and instruments still left to choose from.

He kills Kaede - fine. Shocking, even. But hey, it's 2017, if we can have Female Protags then we can fake female protags. He then does nothing with it. Loldespair. Glorified Sayaka/Chiaki. No real relevance, just DUDE WE KILLED THIS LIKABLE CHARACTER IN A DR GAME PRETTY NUTTY HUH?!

And then with the meta stuff, he tries to make it seem like it's a big deal that it's all a game, and that it is our the player's fault that the characters die, but since people know games aren't real the "twist" falls short and comes off as a guy thinking he's more clever than he is.

And by the by, the truth and lies theme was wasted entirely. Backroutes aren't terribly interesting, and there's no backroute/"lie" ending in Case 6. Just a linear case where Shirogane rants about Danganronpa for an hour or so.

Saihara, finally.. where to begin with this loser. Kodaka makes him as a supposed "subversion" of the DR protag, but the subversion was Kaede - she was actually new. Saihara is a meek fuccboi with luck who gets by on the skin of his teeth. Keebo, who IS supposed to be the "Chosen Protagonist" -... is actually much more interesting than Saihara even WHEN he's just "lol hope." By dying, Keebo becomes another more interesting character that dies for Saihara's sake

Leaving Saihara and V3 unfulfilling. It's a game that thinks its taking risks, but doesn't, which makes it all the more frustrating. The fact that the creator doubles down and says "This is your fault for playing all you had to do was shut off the Vita:^)" like he's smart makes me want to punch a hole in the wall.

Theory anon posting about SHSL Hunt possibly being the real deal as a killing game pitting SHSLs against each other from before, now coming here to pitch another theory regarding the prologue, motive videos and Best Boy Ouma:

About the prologue:

The prologue is the actual brainwashing to make the cast not remember that they actually knew each other, so they'd kill one another. What supports this is Angie shining a light on Saihara and him remembering something about wanting to stand/die together with his friends, and possibly Ouma's FTE with Kaede stating she forgot about him and that they met in a bloodthirsty environment in this one.

Now that we know that all of his FTEs have massive spoilers and foreshadowing I'm inclined to agree with this, especially as he immediately follows up with a blatant lie about how she died after he betrayed her and easily agrees with Kaede that they definitely met each other for the first time here.

And finally, the memory wipe in DR1 made the students forget that they were true friends to one another and this game's events such as AI Gonta being executed along with Gonta in chapter 4 are similar to DR1. Remember what Kanda Sayaka said in her interview? This game is similar to DR1!

I also present as further food for thought a few interesting things said in the prologue:

6) Ouma seems legitimately confused when they talk about 'sealed talent'. If we accept that their talents were never actually sealed, it explains why he's confused- why talk about that, when it's pretty clear they're all SHSLs?

Ouma's motive video and his actions throughout the game:

I didn't know at first that the CG showing Ouma with his band of clowns was part of his motive video. Now that I know, let me just extrapolate:

Ouma is particularly divisive in fandom because misinformation, bad info (Looking at you, chapter 4) and his generally confusing character makes it hard to get a read on him so we'll go with a few things that can't be argued:

1) Ouma definitely wanted to stop the mastermind, the supporting evidence is Kaito mentioning a notebook full of his plans to outwit the mastermind and how his wastepaper basket is overflowing with paper. Some people don't know whether he was lying about hating killing and lying all this while, but in one of his FTEs with Saihara he mentions that he's a pacifist and that's why he's peacefully competing with Saihara by playing games. IIRC Ouma also has a poor constitution, so it makes perfect sense for him to not compete in the one area he's bad at as he's a sore loser.

2) If Ouma wanted to win the game on the mastermind's terms he would have done so in an instant. There's literally no way to argue this when he stages a murder so perfect in chapter 5 you don't even know who the victim or murderer is going into the trial, and it's implied he switched plans on the fly to his own murder because Kaito trusted him.

So, moving on...how does this tie in to his motive video and his actions as a whole? Well, let me explain:

My friend kindly translated his motive video, the gist of it is that he leads a band of petty criminals and he really cares about them, and that something bad happened to them. So far it sounds pretty typical, right? But get this- Monokuma then adds that the bad thing that happened to them is something you'll have to find out on your own!

Therefore, my theory is that Ouma acts the way he did because the cast are part of his followers and he wasn't lying about being the SHSL Supreme Leader at all- he joined the game to save them.

Possible supporting evidence:

1) If we accept that the prologue is fake, Kaede wakes up finding herself in a school that has bars outside- like a prison, exactly what we also see in Ouma's motive video

2) Amami's video says they all signed up for this, but he's dead
well before it's discovered hence it could be fake

3) Ouma mentions in his FTE that in an evil organization as a dictator he has to work very hard. There's also a part in chapter 2 where you see him sleeping while standing up

4) He demonstrates an incredible level of perception about all the characters, and as pointed out above he says to Kaede that she forgot all about him. It makes perfect sense that as Supreme Leader he knows his followers inside out

5) Remember how so much attention was given to Kaede and Amami and they were chapter 1 murders, while you're misled into thinking Ouma is pretty much a chuuni and he turned out to be one of the most important characters of the game? What other thing wasn't touched on more after it was mentioned? That's right, the prison setting!

6) Ouma completely loses his cool in chapter 4's trial when Gonta has no recollection of what they'd discussed about dying together as a group, which contradicts the notion that he used Gonta only as a pawn. He also cries and outright pleads to be executed with Gonta saying he was prepared to die from the start, a display so pathetic that it again contradicts his total bastard image and his madman speech at the start about wanting to commit a murder.

This makes a lot of sense when you consider official info states Ouma is the oldest of the group and Gonta is the youngest- he was willing to throw away everything for Gonta, so Gonta wouldn't die alone. As for why he convinces Gonta it'd be better if they all just die, that's because as a Supreme Leader he'd rather go down with all of his followers than let the mastermind break them.

7) Ouma goes still when Kaito punches him after saying he likes killings, which breaks character once more. His beloved followers don't remember anything about how he really was like and it hurts.

8) He drops the cute act every time Kaede and Saihara deny he's the leader of an evil organization. Furthermore, when Kaede says it's 'common sense' that he definitely doesn't lead one, he starts musing on when Kaede got that 'common sense' and whether it's different from the 'common sense' of others.

9) Finally, he lets Kaito kill him to put an end to the game. That sounds weird when he'd rather not have his followers kill each other, right? Except Kaito is dying anyway, so he can at least die knowing he managed to save some of his followers.

There's probably more I'm not recalling right now, but let me know what you think of it!

For more Kiibofagging, here's a summary of his FTEs someone made.

1- He talks to Saihara about his features which includes basic things like a music player and a hand dryer. Saihara comments that he's surprisingly ordinary and he takes it as an insult.
2- Kiibo starts talking about Dr. Iidabashi and his origins. He was given an AI to learn about emotions and gain a personality. Eventually this leads to him mentioning that he has "died" before. Iidabashi was seriously injured and Kiibo blamed himself for it, and ended up killing himself since he believed that he broke the most important rule for robots- not harming humans. When he came back, his AI was a clean slate, just like a newborn baby. Additionally he lost all of his memories. Everything he knows about before this point is from Iidabashi.
3- He talks to Saihara about how he wants to start a business that takes adavantage of the fact that he's a robot. For some reason, he decides that being an idol is what he wants to do and asks Saihara if he wants to listen. His singing is very terrible and Saihara suggests that he lipsynchs, but Kiibo gets angry again.
4- Kiibo has given up on the idol thing and wants suggestions from Saihara on what his robot business should be. You're given several options to say- stuntman, things in dangerous areas, or robot maid. Regardless it ends with Saihara suggesting that he try nursing, but Kiibo is too embarrassed about undressing people and too weak to lift people to do it.
5- Kiibo says that when he leaves he needs to ask Iidabashi for more settings so that he can do a good job, but Saihara notices that he doesn't seem happy with the idea and says that he shouldn't do things he doesn't want to. He says that Kiibo can do anything he wants with a little experience and guidance from a friend, and Saihara suggests that he will be that friend if he would like that. Kiibo accepts.

"Maho shoujou" transformation is the literally process of characters' final concepts approval in real life, in development process.
"Brainwashing" is the process of burning the previous ideas and sketches for the characters.
The final cast, the 16 students of DRv3, is just characters approved by team Danganronpa and putted into the game.

Every character has a role. Every character is an actor. Prologue is the tool to assign the roles to picked up real life actors.
The Prison School is a big room for filming. With it's own decorations, store rooms, techrooms, props etc. It explains why in the credits there were "real" people, like in the cinema, and why, if Kiibo was a camera, the post-credit scene even existed. Because it was never real. Because it was a movie all along. If they really wanted to make a real-like story and confuse the viewers twice, with kaede and tsumugi as the killers, the "murder" and it's case should be realistic as well, right? But they fucked up. Or Kodaka left a big plothole.
The funny thing is how perfect Tsumugi and Kaede AND Amami worked together.

But if you see at the process of murdering again, but thinking that all three are cooperating AS THE ACTORS, it's much, much easier to explain how it all really happened if it's all a movie and the crime scene is a fake.
