Pilot is actually my second favorite, sometimes first to be honest. Lockpick is extremely underrated, and his Extra Active Slot + Price Discount is also incredibly good. Extra Active scales incredibly into late game, as most of the time you can ditch your lockpick far into a run and simply use two active items (ever had Potion of Lead skin and Potion of Gun friendship at the same time with a high coolness stat? it's pretty damn strong.) Even if you can't ditch your lockpick, there are a lot of times where You'll want to use your lockpick simply because a key isn't worth the gamble on the tier of chest (browns and blues tend to fall off around floor 3 and 4) or You'll find rooms that you'll be locked out of (some of them have the lost explorer, some of the have extra chests on aside from the two guaranteed ones that spawn on the floor). A lot of times, where other characters simply will NOT have the keys to waste or won't want to waste them if they haven't hit the two chests on the floor, Pilot can just take that 50% gamble and not really care.

Pilot can really snowball runs extremely hard honestly. The trade off of course being that his early game is a lot worse than any other gungeoneer's. The rogue special is pretty much the worst starter pistol, weak as hell and inaccurate which means you have to compensate for it's ridiculous spread with your cursor aiming to do much from more than mid range against standard enemies (bosses are big targets so they don't matter as much).

I would say Marine is probably the best from an objective standpoint between the four starting gungeoneers.

His passive is just so fucking good in every way. Faster reload speed means you're shooting more often (i.e. more dps) more accuracy means you can turn any shotgun in the game into a lethal force at mid range, and most pistols can be used pretty damn effectively at long range.

Starting with an armor piece is just icing on the cake and that helmet is pretty cool

Hell, Exploded Firecracker in Antibirth is unusable if you have shit speed and no Mantle/Pyro. And even if you do, you gotta know where to run immediately or you'll take the hit.

I think so, at the very least they're adding past kills for the two secret characters, so I would assume so. I know what you mean though, It'd be nice to have some more to go for. Once you hit all the achievements and unlock all the items, the only thing left is to fill out your entire ammonomicon

Sonic speed - "gotta go fast" - increases movement speed cap to 3.0 and increases your current movement speed by 50%

My other shadow - active - "body flicker technique" - passively grants an immaterial, transparent familiar that mirrors your appearance and movements in the room. can be activated once per 7 seconds to instantly swap places with your shadow familiar.

black shadow - "always with me" - gain a shadow that slowly and constantly grows in size and demonic appearance over time. Once it reaches full size, it damages you for one red heart and all enemies for 10x your attack damage, at which point it disappears for a few seconds before repeating the growth process. taking damage or killing an enemy causes the shadow to pause, and decrease it's growth, for 2 seconds (effectively increasing the time to damage by 4 seconds). Black shadow will only damage red hearts, and can kill you in this manner, regardless of soul/shadow hearts collected. If the character has no red hearts, such as with lost and ???, black shadow cannot hurt you, but will still deal the 10x enemy damage.

Heartless - "" - grants 0.4 increased damage for every empty heart container. grants no bonus to heroes with no hearts like lost or ???.

kerosene - "burns so good" - isaac is healed when touching fire or enemies who are on fire, and enemies who touch him are ignited. touching bonfires puts them out, including blue and purple bonfires.

Some consistent hint source would make the Lost unlock actually reasonable.

The devil deals are almost always there, but they cost fucking HP. The angel rooms have a bit less chance of appearing, but the things that can spawn can be terribad, such as 6 fucking coins, an eternal heart, 3 spirit hearts or a bad item. They're sort of equal in value. Not really tho, since the devil items aren't THAT amazing most of the times, and again, they cost HP.

For normal gameplay, yes. Nobody would want to experiment with things they think are odd (i.e. the Missing Poster being useless) until they saw missing achievements.
Then we'd just end up with people creating groups actively looking for the puzzle together, which is the only way they'd notice the puzzle pieces (which is probably how it happened, I don't know what order the puzzle hunters found things originally).
Other than that it would be pure luck. Just like half of this fucking game :^)

So I'm doing a modded run with Soleil, he's pretty good. He start with Orange Flask that give him one and a half soul heart, so it's just a better Book of revelation really. Didnt see any downside.

Also, I really like the Curses of Egypt, got the Curse of the Firstborn and it seem really powerful since it kill the first enemy that spawn in a room that is not a boss.

Also using the Worse Item Description Mod from the follow anon here, it's pretty fun.

Curse Heart is pretty interesting. Remove all hearts drops but give you a damage up and restore your whole health on each floors.

Also, I didnt know that Void portals could spawn on the chest.

Given that a whole bunch of free mods are getting ported to Afterbirth+ officially over the next year as part of the Afterbirth+ purchase (we're getting 12 booster packs, remember), it'd be weird to give Antibirth special treatment regardless of its quality.

It's basically a fuck you to anyone's work that gets in the game without them getting compensated.

A more sensible route would be for Nicalis to contract out the Antibirth team to help port the mod, that way Antibirth ends up making it into the booster packs in a timely fashion and the Antibirth team gets compensated for their efforts.

Or to put it another way, expecting fans to pay for a port of a free mod that people would make for free eventually anyway is fucking retarded.

No, but Godhead makes your tears clump up on an enemy and even without that you can clump the tears up yourself by not moving for a while, then if you back up they'll stay in place while you adjust their length on the tractor beam

In either scenario, they will remain at that distance on the tractor beam and you can swing that shit around the room

Just beat Binding of Isaac for the first time. Was doing horribly for my first few runs and then it started coming together. I got some upgrade that forced me to charge my tears but I could do it before entering a room and I was hitting bosses with it for at least half their health.

I feel like I was missing a lot though, I didn't get any deals with the devil or angel or whatever. Do I unlock more stuff as I go along or did I just not fulfill the requirements?
