I first played DQ8 on PS2 and loved it, like absolutely loved it, became one of my favorite JRPGs.

I was very excited for the 7 remake, but it honestly bored the living shit out of me, it's so fucking repetitive and dull, after like island number 15 or something with the same looking villages and characters and nothing happening at all (plus how broken the job system turned out to be after the eternity I spent actually getting to it), I just stopped playing.

I think I'll replay DQ8 on 3DS and forget about 7 desu, at least for now.

Why do people want the inferior version of dq8? Just emulate the ps2 version uncensored and with the orchestral soundtrack

I don't know why, but I just cannot stand JRPGs with invisible random encounters anymore, I'm FFIX on Steam and while I'm enjoying everything about it and will finish it I just dread every single visit to a dungeon or the overworld because after like 3 steps it's WOOOOSH, then a meaningless battle I'll dispatch in a shorter time than it took to load it. Fuck that.

I have a 3DS with luma + a9lh, I was trying to make a full backup of my SD card on my computer, put my computer doesn´t want to copy the file in pic related (is the only file inside of the folder named Emunand9 in the root of my card)

Anyone knows why it happnes? is tells my its something about the file´s name.

You don't give up anything. You can just download a game and install it straight to the hardrive with a browser exploit and it will work online and everything just fine. If it's a game that isn't released on a disk you'll need to run a sig patch first through the same exploit and that's it. Super easy and virtually no risk.

I have physical Conquest with Birthright and Revelations as DLC. The only other thing I was using for it was the romfs undub and swimsuit patch run through hans, and the undubbed DLC.

I'd prefer to not lose my save files, or have to take up a bunch of space on my SD for a cia version of the game if possible.

Anyways, don't have to sacrifice online, hack is reversable easily. You'll only fuck up if you don't read the instructions, 5-5-1 is perfect and recommended, you can load games from SD or USB, but you'll need an SD card to install them. And it's hella stable.

SMT Devil Survivor 1 has problems with the opening movie with it on. You have to let it set for a minute or so and then press A and it'll go to the menu. Senran Kagura 2 doesn't work with overclock on too someone told me a few threads back. That's all I know of.

The txt is the target region and language. The language you want to emulate the game with. So japan would be the same thing, no changes.

The txt example is to get Taiko DLC working, since out of region DLC need emulation to work, and taiko is jap.

You need to plant your SD card in the ground and water it every 8 hours, after a few days it will start to grow, you then burn those files into a CD and place it in the root.

After a few weeks it will grow into a tree and new SD cards will pop out, fully ready to boot a9lh and luma.

How to get passed dragon quest 8 extra data error
Stable luma build:
1. Download this file https://www.sendspace.com/file/xgdw06
2. Make a new folder in luma called Locales
3. put the text file inside the Locales folder.
Sd should look like this
SD:/Luma/Locales/000400000018F200.txt
4. Go into luma and enable "enable region/language emu. and ext. . code" option.
5. press start to save and start dragon quest 8 and you should be good to go.

Nightly/hourly build:
1. Download this file https://www.sendspace.com/file/xgdw06
2. Make a folder called titles inside the luma folder
3. Make another folder called 000400000018F200 and put it inside the titles folder.
4. Rename the text file from 000400000018F200.txt to locale.txt
5. put the text file inside the 000400000018F200 folder
Sd should look like this
Sd:/Luma/titles/000400000018F200/locale.txt
6. Go to luma and enable "enable game patching" option
7. Press start to save and start dragon quest 8 and you should be good to go.

Hold select and power on your 3ds which should launch luma. Stable build has "enable region/language emu" while the hourly/nightly build has "enable game patching" option.
