Oversaturation of gathering quests in village and hub quests. Villager requests are treated as urgent quests meaning that deliver white liver quest with shit RNG you helped the host with doesn't count for you. Deviant ticket system is just as retarded, meaning that if you did a 1-10 without posting and you're missing tickets for your lv.7 armour piece, guess what? You now have to start from the first level and crawl your way up or go to rooms and beg for someone to post for you. Bonesquid sucks and hunter arts and styles seem like they were not properly balanced due to this game being presumably shoved out the door to rake in money. All of this and more has amalgamated to the player base dying off in record time, even in japan.

I could go on but I'm tired and and frankly sick of talking about how this series isn't getting any better. Feels exactly like the player drop off from Freedom Unite while ushering a new league shit kids while I'm still here pretending everything is still as good refusing to move on. I just don't think I can keep doing this to myself. I have seen old hunting buddies get married, have kids, and even expire R.I.P John, while I'm still here slowly growing bitter about this series' direction. But I understand now. The same series that I felt was especially tailor made to my interests and challenge level is no longer bringing me the joy and excitement it once did over 10 years ago.

Still AR. You're using it as a gap closer more than anything, Guns Blazing is utterly unnecessary and Load Gunpowder is a DPS loss versus rolling into siege.

Now, leaving the faggy optimization aside for a moment, if you're in multiplayer and you like to use internal shots like Triblast or Long first because free bullets and utility, go with Load Gunpowder and stock up on them while you're emptying your internals. They give way more gauge per bullet than they consume, so you'll have a number of powered up rounds for your important bullet type.

I've been playing 3U for the first time and it really feels like a different game from 4U and Gen, and I don't obviously mean the mechanics and monsters, but the whole feel of the game is different, it's calmer and more slow, the village is also very calming and so are its theme song.

Quite a nice surprise to be honest, now that I look at it, Gen is very frenetic and fast paced and it kinda hurts the fun, in my opinion.

Anybody up for some gen hunting right now? I'm practising with the Hunting horn (I'm pretty bad at it)

Those changes were only added into the HR 100 version, and considering Lao was pretty much only used for getting power/armor talons at that point, I guess they didn't feel the need to go back and change it.

to answer your question, lance is easier for starters (since you can attack and block simultaneously), so you should start with that. gunlance is a great "fuck-you" cannon, but more unwieldy.

The best tip I can give you is git gud with your fav weapon/style and be more aggresive, that's my way to deal w Tiggy. Be as aggresive as him, dodge and stay near his face.

Pay attention to when the monster is wasting your goddamn time. Diablos is a good example, of you just let her charge over and over again the hunt will take ages. If you change your own playstyle to be more aggressive and punish/prevent the time wasters, you'll see your clear times soar.

Try to stay up in the monster's nuts as much as you can - it's better to be close to the monster and be able to respond to an animation immediately (especially for GS) than to have to move in and do the thing. Many new players stay away from the monster 'to be safe' and lunge for openings, which can be good for staying alive, but is shit do clear times.

But most of all git gud, and there's no reason to take that negatively. Spend the effort to really learn each monster and practice, practice, practice.

So I now have a water attack +12 team player +7 no slot talisman, which is much better than the water attack +5 two slot talisman I'm using.

I've only recently started playing 3U as my first MH(got it during the shop sale). Any time I look at footage from the 3DS games my eyes hurt. The game's fun and all but how do people put up with that shit?
