I got somewhat 10 of support from the king and two other important nobles who were marshals at some point. I can defeat pretty much any army the same size as mine of any lord, including jatus. my company is pretty mixed but it's working, the morale is high. my companions are pretty shitty though. /mbg/ help me out here, I'm playing 1257AD and out of nowhere I find out that I'm the lord of Kars, a city that was under the control of the II-Khante.

I'm just a mercenary for England, and I don't know how the khans lost this city that's leagues away from England nor why I the fuck it was given to me.

When am I ready to become a vassal in poop? Got ~250 renown, 11 honor, 6k income, and 150k in my inventory with about 90 trained troops/followers. I'm working on getting 15 honor, but other than that I'm not sure what I should do.

Its basically:

Str 12/15 -> INT 27 -> STR 30 -> (optional) INT 30 (10+4 pathfinding)

Basically AGI and CHA can fuck off build. Focus on strength early so that you can hasten how quickly you level as combat is the fastest way to gain experience.

With high path-finding you will never enter disadvantageous combat unless you fall asleep while traveling. With 10+(4) surgery you are able to maintain your forces in repetitive combat and quickly develop an elite army. With quick (and high level) trainer you will be able to passively mass train your troops and domino effect this by leveling your companions universally as well.

Everything else is pretty much to preference. I usually go for 2-5 for such skills as wound treatment and engineering.

This build tends to actually allow you to become extremely aggressive early on as support companions tend to level extremely slowly. The nice thing about this build is that with your high trainer skill even your support companions level more quickly -- You AGI bitch for looting for example. Or your INT companions for the INT skills you aren't emphasizing.

Unit placement in PoP is really bad for some reason

I've had parts of my archer line randomly clump up and you basically have to get used to your units placing themselves a certain distance away from where you want them to. I'm kinda in the same boat as you, but my kingdom wasn't nearly as far along, and i didn't have a knight order. My save was somewhere in the 400s for days.

I remember PoP being pretty annoying when i first began, but i stuck it out and it got fun by mid-game. I said fuck it and just imported my level 30 character from 3.7 into the new version to roll through early game and get to the good stuff.

Yeah, my first playthrough was 3.7 and i had been on the same save when 3.8 came out.
I didn't want to start all over and have all that effort thrown out, so i just wanted to jump back in with my character.

My gear isn't high end and my companions/troops are no longer beasts, but i still got my stats.

Every time I play it I just get so bored but I dont know why.
Multiple races, custom quests, actual benefits to befriending lords, abilities, customisable troops and high texture armours. Yet I feel so empty when playing it, honestly I've spent more time playing A new Dawn or PoP.

If we want to make "realistic" gender mod for M&B female characters should have something like half of the strength (effective strength for purposes of skill calculations=STR*0.5, E AGI=0.7*AGI, E INT=0.9 INT). But 50% bonus to persuasion for male characters that may expect sex with her and 100% persuasion bonus for those who had. This would be realistic gender fix and challenge.

Women in M&B as it is are just men with pretty faces. So any misogynist experience that somebody tries to apply to from our world to M&B is inherently wrong. It is a world of true female equality not like others.

Well you've got to think of it from the game's prespective.

This is a medieval soceity where women don't really get out that much, so what they can and do instead, is develop their skills (which historically was mostly housekeeping/tailoring/etc, but there were exceptions).
That fits well with having a slightly greater capacity for non-combat, non-leadership skills at the start.
