I seem to get swarmed by horde everywhere. I don't mind fighting, just gets old when there are packs everywhere locking shit down. I'm ok with grinding as well but everywhere I've checked on either has horde hunter/mages grinding already or one chink nelf hunter who shadowmelds while horde rape and then leave then back to grinding (smart, really, but fuck chinks anyhow).
No one in my small guild wants to group up for anything and I doubt mandate would be a step up in anything but guildchat banter.

The way we did the fight in vanilla is we had a healer stand on top of a canon and tank would only focus on VanCleef.

Healer pulls aggro, adds walk to canon and just stand there looking at healer since they can't reach him. They would despawn after we killed VanCleef.

We can't know the exact numbers since Blizz doesn't tell us anymore, so the best we go on is by the census counts - and last i checked they were at under 2million in the US.
the one thing we CAN get from census is trends, and the trend has been sharply downward since the first month of Legion (which shouldn't be shocking).
Still not "dead" but it's becoming that way quickly, and like you said, it's clear that nu-blizz is fine with big box sales of xpacs and then time-gating the people who stick around no matter what.

All of this still doesn't mean legacy is an impossibility, but the smart money has always been that it was a "when", not "if", and it would be when retail was in unofficial "maintenance mode". As to when that is I doubt any of us could say.

There's a Gnome Mage that I've seen for the past few days in the dancing troll village (while I was flying overhead). Each time I've seen them the trolls were dead around them. They were level 57 the first time I saw them, then level 59 yesterday. They are probably level 60 today.

Obviously they are grinding the mobs there for xp. Not sure if that's an exploit but it's an area that is supposed to be inaccessible (you have to wall walk to get there) and it's a safe spot because you know nobody will try to gank you there etc. Also they had two friends with them one time in the area.

They were tuned for shitty pre-1.12 classes. Before the AQ patches, warriors wouldn't even go prot, that's how fucked the talents were. MC and BWL aren't that hard, but with the 1.12 classes you shouldn't spend more than 2 days trying to clear them for the first time.

I just did gnomer on elysium with 4 dps / 1 druid healer all around lvl 30 apart from a 34 mage. The hunter pet was our tank and we did very good, instance seemed extremely easy.
