Get a team that can farm the purple dungeons (Linthia, Zaerog8, Scarlet etc) easily, and farm them hard. Co-op Liu Bei teams can often trivialize it, and you will rank up a shitload unless you're already over 450 or so. Each descend has a predra floor worth 500mp, and many drops are worth 10-50 mp as well. Scarlet, Z8 and to a lesser extent Linthia are all great additions to many non-whale teams, so skilling them up is another bonus.

I'd say this is one of the better games around in terms of collecting free premium currency. You do only get one stone from clearing normal/technical dungeons (two if you do the challenge mode), but nowadays there's almost always an event going. Back in the day there used to be loads of dry spells, but now if one event doesn't roll into the next, its only like 4 days of non-event things happening and there's typically some sort of dungeon you can run up. Challenge dungeons are constantly renewed and normally you can get one stone from running the easiest/bottom three easy dungeons. They're always renewing gift dungeons (e.g. fruit dragons, jewels, exp dungeon) so you get stones from those.

Some of the old descended dungeons only have one difficulty too so they're easy to get stones from.

Taobao is a Chinese website, it's basically AliExpress but for Chinese only. You can buy from them using a trustworthy intermediate service (like Bhiner if they still exist) who will act as your agent and buy what you tell them to buy. When you go through dungeons, you collect pal points from your pals/people on your friends list. You get 5 for using unadded people, 10 for added people, then 100 for best friends.

Instead of using stones to roll in the pal egg machine, you use pal points. Depending on the machine that's up for the week, you can either get evo materials, jewel dragons (you feed these for card exp) from the enhance machine, or "rare monsters" from the rare monster machine. The best things you can roll from the rare monster machine are jewels and tamadras, the rest can be fed off as skill up material if you roll the actual card they skill up. At the beginning I'm sure it's fine to use them as subs though.

If you get one of these guys from the enhance one, it might be worth holding onto him. He's used as evo material for some monsters, and his dungeon is hard to clear when you're still new to the game.

Yes, Shiva dragon has a large (sort of) unconditional multiplier. It means that you don't need to meet any certain conditions for Shiva dragon to do 5x damage.

Yes, that's a strategy that's pretty accepted and is much easier. Many good monsters can only be rolled in a godfest so just get a reasonable starter and play the game. Then when (if) you reroll you will have a better idea of what kind of team you like (combo, color match, monocolor, etc)

Also, there are very few things that will bind a card more than 4 turns and a full HP heal might be nice but it's typically not needed. A.Ama's haste is also nice and her CD is 2 less, so her skill isn't bad at all.
