Cloud is unreasonably strong. He defeats Sephiroth one on one in AC after gathering his resolve, remember. He's got the most extreme mako treatments and Jenova therapy that Hojo could give him and came out alive, after rebuilding his sanity and taking a dunk in the Lifestream he's pretty much the strongest person on FFVII's planet. Sephiroth is already a one-man-army and Cloud is stronger (when he's not wavering).

There's plenty of SOLDIERs left in Shinra and Cloud is strong enough to sweep even the standard 1st classes aside like nothing. Also the WEAPONs of the Planet fall before the party, and Cloud is obviously the powerhouse of the group, with only Vincent approaching his combat ability.

Bartz does not face Exdeath on his own and furthermore Bartz (and the other warriors of light) succumbs to the Void when it is used on him directly. Materials that you exchange at the exchange store left of the girl you talk to fight mp.
Basically you exchange for either sicarius cards, other materials to augment ability cards, or items.
I really recomend you check it out because the sicarius cards are very strong and basically free, except for having to fight quite a few fights.
But they're def worth it. Also the items you can get are very good. Before new year you could basically exchange for 1 summon ticket each week, but for some reason I havent seen any summon tickets being put up for exchange.

Cloud is able to clear SOLDIERs but again that's not saying that much. The rest of FFVII is completely regular humans. Yes, Cloud is a ridiculously fast, jump-flying, super-humanly strong soldier, but a whole tier below people that are manipulating ridiculous magic and dimensions (think Exdeath, WoR Kefka, etc)

To put it in context, Exdeath (mid-game) is probably stronger than Cloud. Terra in Esper form (when she wants to fight) is probably stronger than Cloud. You're really underplaying him, I think. SOLDIERs stand above normal humans, and FFVII has a lot of monsters and machines.
A single 1st class SOLDIER of nearing Cloud's level is a match for an entire army of human troopers armed with guns, missile artillery, and air support. Zack proved this. Sephiroth and Cloud are both on a level directly above Zack.

Any mage can do that in FFVI, magic is OP in that setting. That's why magitek knights and espers are big deals to begin with. Killing ordinary people with magic puts them on the level of FFVII's SOLDIERs, in that they wreck normal people without difficulty. God no, WEAPONs destroy cities with their average attacks and require firepower on the level of city-destruction to take down (Sister Ray full blast). Espers can slaughter people by the dozens but they are matched with magic (Kefka on his own can gun down espers one after another with single spells) because again magic is a very powerful force in VI's world.

As far as the story is concerned (ignoring gameplay), the only things stronger than it are the Warring Triad, the Guardian magitek superweapon, and its own counterpart Ultima Buster.

Monks in general are super strong because they either have attack boosts when not using weapons or they can dual wield for free without having to gain the skill.

Actually it wasn't the strongest, it was just one of the last remaining things from the old war. There were a ton of more powerful weapons, but they were all sealed away or broken into pieces. The the dragons, Doomgazer, and a ton of other baddies were all left over from the old war and were more powerful.

The Ultima Buster was really powerful, as most optional boss fights are, but the Ultima Weapon wasn't that powerful. Also the espers WERE like weapons, they were insanely powerful and the most powerful of their number were actually sealed up to prevent them destroying the world. Bahamut was one such character, Ragnarok was another. The 'old espers' like the village elder were the really powerful WMDs, it just happened that the elder was a support class esper and not a battle esper.

You're running away with fanon here. Deathgaze, Humbaba, and the 8 dragons were unsealed by the world's end, but who sealed them, when and why, and how strong they are in general, is completely unknown and unmentioned in FFVI. There's no indication they were part of the War of the Magi.
