After looking some videos and shit, looks like gunners can pull up same DPS as reapers or even ninjas, but only considering the player skills and their ping over their gear (implying you atleast have a good +12 gear gunner wise). Gunners can do damage but you need your brain to know fully your class or you will be dog shit.Still, Ninjas and reapers have it more easy to outperform you doing DPS, nothing will change that.

This shit right here is why I think healers and tanks should get to roll twice and keep their highest roll in dungeons where the success or failure rests almost entirely on their ability to perform their role. RMHM has no DPS checks unless you really want to count the fucking spider, but even that can be mitigated with excellent tanking. I've been in so many runs where DPS just die over and over again at nightmare rachelith, and we still manage to get through it without wiping because of healers being on point and the tank taking so little damage that the healers can afford to babysit the dps all day. Then at the end, those same dps roll a 90 on the one worthwhile material. Fuck that shit.

They went pretty casual for all the newest dungeons, tera used to have some pretty tight enrage timers. RMHM has literally none, i've seen groups where one good tank+healer hyper carried worthless dps who stay on the ground, get picked up to take debuff (by sheer accident) and then die again. A few dungeons in tera used to be like this, but they've all been removed. Some dungeons still have shield phases and DPS checks, but they are laughably low. Even in places like harrowhold, biggest cause of failed shields is if too many people are dead to break it. Ideally this puts pressure on dps to stay alive, but in practice people just ask healers why more people weren't ressed at the time.

This shit is one of the many reasons MMOs are a dying genre nowadays. Not saying that shit players weren't always a thing in MMOs but after WoW came along and casualized the genre so much, now you have these (admittedly convenient, but mechanically flawed) systems that just lump you in with whoever the fuck wants to group with you. LFG works better but you're still gambling with who you'll get, and you run into the shit you guys are mentioning. Not every DPS is bad, some DPS can carry the group, some DPS deserve a medal for what they do. Sometimes it's the tank or the healer that deserve the medal but either way you fucking rely on these people you typically can't count on unless you personally know them and because everything has to be fair for the casual player, the skilled get fucked while the shitter runs out with the mat. And yes, tanks and healers deserve something for the shit they put up with but you just can't fuck over DPS too. The critical issue is that everyone in the group relies on everyone else doing well and not being a dick but that rarely ever fucking happens.

People don't even listen when I say anything, and this is coming from someone who plays tank. I did an RM run, these guys were stuck on the last boss and needed a tank for it. Usually these kinds of "@ last boss" LFGs are inexperienced and die during the boss's first in/out donut, so I told these guys that I was going to enrage and use adrenaline rush and guardian shout after that initial phase. They said nothing. I asked if they were ready. Again they said nothing. I went in, pulled the boss, and the first thing I see is someone popping all their cooldowns and using their brooch even though I expressly said that I wasn't going to give them any supportive buffs for like another 10 seconds, because 9/10 pug groups I join end up floormastering to her initial spins which is just a huge waste of buffs.

My ultimate pet peeve, I think, is when I ask if people are ready and they just run back and forth really fast without saying anything, or they inch towards the entrance of the boss arena. Like, sometimes I actually want to smack people who do this. All you have to do is type R so I know you're not alt tabbed or something. The rare times I just take people's antsy movement as a signal that they're ready and I go, then I always end up seeing one guy left behind at the starting gate who looked ready but it turned out he wasn't ready after all. Fuck's sake just say something it's not hard.

You're not doing it right. As a healer you can basically treat the dps like dogs. You can leech off of +15 players while being in slaughter yourself and enjoy easy runs while putting in no effort yourself.
Is a dps you don't like not performing well? Tell him how some other guy is doing double his damage. Given how much people generally care about meter, it will probably hurt his ego. He has literally no way to get back at you either as long as you stay alive yourself and properly heal, which isn't hard.
Also know that the dps is simply expendible. It's not only piss easy to find them in LFG, but they can die or be shit as much as they want on any boss but Lachelith.

There's such a big gap in strength of the two sets that if you did get ambush and you were doing the same thing your DPS should improve, maybe not to what it should be, but if it didn't then something would be seriously wrong.

That said there's always room to improve, if that's how you feel and you're resigned to it then fair enough, at least you're not leeching off of people and expecting the world for it, but most players are a lot more patient with someone who wants to improve, even if they aren't good.
