If they didnt do it for money, what would happen? Have just stacks and stacks of all these custom cars in the backyard to rust, and have to pay our of pocket for all that shit? When they could do it for someone else and get paid to do so rather than out of pocket.

And why is that relevant? Just because there exist a ton of runs for MST doesn't mean it's competitive. In OoT, new tricks get found all the time and old runs are suddenly not so optimized anymore. The only people seriously competing for the MST WR with current strats are zfg and Valientlink (Marco's done with the category for now). Pydoyks' 3 year old run still being in 9th place should drive the point home how little top runners MST has to offer.

I guess being old isn't as important, but it's all MST has, since the rules are more arbitrary than normal, with some memory manipulation being banned for little reason. Instead, I find its age to speak more about its prestige as being the essential medium-length category for the game, more so than all dungeons, even though they're so similar now. It's definitely more interesting to me than "100% no source requirement"

GIM really shouldn't be banned for MST any more. The only reason Joden and Marco opposed it was because it would add RNG to the run, but that's no longer an issue. It's also inconsistent with the precedent set by allowing wrong warp because it was not forbidden by the original rule set.

Not even ZFG stepped up to the plate to redefine it for a rule change that would allow you to cut out a lot of stuff including LACS. Honestly, I only act with hostility on this site because it is a way for me to vent such hostility in a way that won't alienate the few people I come into regular contact with in real life.

The hostility isn't from a frail ego, or pent up aggression, but a sense of futility. I can't remember the last time I was truly happy, and I don't think that will change soon. In fact, over time I just become more unhappy. It has gotten to the point where I am nostalgic for times when I was still depressed, just less so. I no longer have a reference point for not being depressed.

I speedrun because that's all I have left, and /srg/ is my outlet.
