Personally when I activate my almonds I just use grapple and go maximum fast and vertical. Who cares if you use stim to start a run going maximum fast as long as you continue going fast after it runs out its just a way to start fast immediately. Also nothing is worse than phase shift crutch.

Ronin is very good for that, but I've found (on console anyway) that there's a huge skill range for Ronin pilots. Some are fucking aces, and others glue their melee button down. He was the latter and got annihilated by 6 (SIX) enemy Tones.

direct hit on a pilot is a guaranteed kill pretty much all the time. That being said, it's only a direct stick: the explosion does a max of 95 damage, so the other 5 has to come from the direct.

Splash radius is really quite small. If you're not directing people, you best hope they're groundlocked or you're not going to be doing shit to them.

Sort of, I don't consider Titanfall to be as team orientated of a game as Overwatch, where I don't mind being cucked if it means a win for the team. But in Titanfall I value my individual performance, and a lot of my personal satisfaction in the game comes from climbing the scoreboard. When someone comes by and steals your Titan kill and 10 points it feels like I'd be better off farming grunts for guaranteed points instead and letting that titan continue to stomp my team. Being top of the scoreboard does have ingame benefits too, like the percentage that counts how often you're top 3.

My only advice to you is be more careful where you call in your Titan. I used to have the same issue, but then I realized it was because I was dropping my titans in areas that were just too hot. That's usually the number one reason why titans get raped as soon as they land.

Honestly Scorch is actually the best at exploiting this. If you call in your titan and it lands anywhere near a Scorch it's fucking dead. Heat shield will melt a Titan faster than anything in that situation.

It's not that bad really, especially if you run refraction lens and it shits out damage, just let off now and then to let it juice back up so you can use your Vortex sheild, and laser (AKA pilot gooser) as needed.

Somehow I'm doing really well against pilots but I don't know what do against enemy Titans. My main is Ronin, and pretty much nothing carried over to Legion.

Legion feels really simple, like all I can do is stand still and shoot. Maybe there's something I'm not getting

Really most of the time the extra cannon isn't worth it.

My ion loadout is over core, and refraction lens, I find having more damage more often to put out with refraction lens (makes the splitter rifle fire five instead of 3 projectiles) to be better than extra laser, and the over core means you have laser core quite often, and while most people here don't seem to like it (admittedly it isn't the best core in allot of situations) I like having it up as it's great for getting behind a titan, or two and firing away when they're distracted by a team mates. That's my experience if it works for you and gets you results stick with it.

That said I'd experiment a bit with everything, Ion is one of those titans that changes quite a bit depending on what core you run, extra laser and tripmines are more playing like a cheeky cunt, the vortex sheild is good for return to sender face fucking, and refrection lens makes Ion a whole lot deadlier at close range attacks. Ion is one of those titans where I've seen quite a few loadouts do well depending on tastes.

So my actual stats say that i've executed 14 pilots, yet when I look at my progress towards unlocking Zebra Light, i'm at 15 executions.

What gives?

Well how I play him is, most maps I stick close range most of the time, I try to get behind people and save smart core when there's allot of people around. Use long ranger when you get trapped down a lane or just walk away. When you get close though sheild up and power shots will knock them back too in close range something that is really good against the average ronin (since most just go in with the sword ignoring everything else).

I personally run hidden compartment (Extra powershot) and turbo engine (I can't not have a dash if you can swing it without one, but since you're a ronin main you'll probably be like most people I've seen and want that dash lol).

Allot of people fall into the trap of just standing still, personally when I get close with legion, I want to stay just out of melee range and keep moving, long range you can sit a bit easier and pick of people fighting other titans, AI's whatever. That said I'm not the best at long range mode, and usually stick to close range unless I'm forced into it,or I'm on homestead so other people probably have better advice for using it in a straight up fight. Yeah save standing still when people are turbo retarded and not focusing on you, or they're fighting someone else, so you can just unleash DPS.

Another good time to use smart core, is against pilots on roofs who are shooting you, especially if there's three or more. Pilots as Legion can fuck you up if they harass en masse.

Turbo Engine/Refraction Lens is how I roll Ion. I rely a lot on the shoulder laser what goes up for most activities at range, but the extra splitter shots are great for sweeping rooftops when I don't want to waste a laser shot. The extra Dash is great to get away, or to almost always have one to use right as you start your core to get in a more aggressive position. Though frequently I get very little use of my core except to wreck fresh and/or auto-Titans. Pre-Angel City update though I ran bonus energy, and rarely if ever use the splitter alt fire. I'd mostly just use it to plink up to another shoulder laser. Crits are so juicy. And the goosing.

Another Anon mentioned the Charge Hack attachment, which makes it not require a charge-up but deal less damage. There's still a relatively brief cooldown before it can be fired again.

There's also a bug wherein swapping weapons negates the cooldown, making it effectively fire every half-second or so. If the killcam showed the guy's gun disappearing between every shot (him toggling to his primary and back), he was probably abusing the bug. Turns it into effectively a semi-auto hitscan weapon with respectable damage and pretty wicked DPS against Titans.

Generally, I'd say the bug is more annoying to do than the benefits you get out of it are worth, but not everyone feels the same way.

The population is low enough that there's often only a few lobbies up for a given game mode at a time. Even with effective skill-based matchmaking, the incredibly small player pool is going to mean the system might just not have the people to make balanced games with. I've noticed that a lot, but only recently. Maybe Respawn has made some changes to matchmaking or they just threw out SBMM altogether.

I wish game developers would be more transparent with SBMM, for whatever reason they always keep it a secret when they add or remove it from games. I remember a time when a game like this would have an actual ladder system, and people were happy to be put in competitive matches to win prestige or accolades or whatever. Nowadays with SBMM you get all the frustration that comes with competition and none of the awards.

because there's no cooldown on the missles so it isn't the end of the world if you lock onto only one and fire. Although I would say that it feels a little cooler firing a torrent of missles from 4 different lock-ons.

kraber is easier to use then the DMR since it just requires a body shot, which is easier to do even with projectile time than hitting a head. If you are good they are far more efficient, if you are not then they are far less efficient.
