It was there before. You can argue that its a centrally located security pitstop and they can have a sit in there. They can maintain a presence in Medbay where fights and bad stuff often occurs, but still have some use while mall copping it by watching the cams.

I sucked five people, removed the head of three to revive later. Thralled cash but he went catatonic by the time I woke him up from sleep tox. Thralled the CAMO and he was the best thrall I could have asked for. When I got caught I was Borges for a time but he ended up getting me out of the Borg through laws and I almost got saved. There's basically no breaks and any interruption, save for a gray politely letting you see where telepathys at, is a waste of your time and pushes back your completion point so you can start distribution.

I've long since accepted that it's a losing battle to try and hand out full power SEs. In that sense, genetics is "balanced for time". You really won't have a lot of powers by 12:30, at least not a lot of the crew will. So the Geneticist has to make a choice. Go as fast as possible and try to hit the pinnacle 12:45-12:55 range. Go slow but interact with people, continually backing up your SE every 3rd or 5th new power and calling people constantly over the radio to come get some.. but only finishing at 13:10 or 13:20.

Plus there's this. When you're new, Genetics is just awful and you're concentrating on not fucking up and figuring out why you picked this awful job.
