That shit was out of control in Ashenvale, though. From all the babies crying in general it felt like there were a lot of Alliance, but I never saw them. But any time me and my buddy killed some Horde, 8 more came out of fucking nowhere. Shit was crazy. Still left with a positive record, though. Probably at least 2:1, 3:1 if you count the greykilling.

There is no leveling prot build because prot is shit for questing/grinding. 31/5/15 is tanky enough up to UBRS without gimping your damage too much.

If you're the 7th warrior in a raid and you're forced to DPS just for a slot then yes it's useful because heroic strike generates too much threat, mortal strike takes up a debuff slot which is a no-no, and bloodthirst is assholes. Otherwise the other skills are better in every other situation.

I actually never played any post cu/nge stuff, but do like what I've seen of a bunch of stuff that was added a bit later. I never liked the idea of the way classes worked and especially didn't like there being so many jedis, but that was a gripe from old SWG as well.

The hardest part of vanilla raiding is the prep work. Getting preraid gear and farming gold for consumables/respecs if you use multiple talent builds, doing attunement quest chains, etc.
You don't just run 20 minute dungeons until you get enough currency points to buy a set of gear for raiding. Dungeons can take hours and a lot of your gear is spread out among all of the high level ones or crafted/expensive BoEs which cuts into all the other gold that you need

Live SWG was getting a steady stream of content from launch until it died. In the period you played, from launch to post-NGE, the game had 3 expansion packs alone. Trust me, if all you could EVER do in SWG was hunt, craft, socialize, and grind towards Jedi, you'd get bored of it really quickly, which is basically what's going on on Basilisk but without the Jedi part.

The average person doesn't level that fast, isn't playing 8-10 hours a day, and usually hates the idea of grinding even if it's faster than doing crowded quests. If you're ahead of them right now (mid-30s or higher), you're probably going to stay ahead at this point, the pack is smashing into Ashenvale, STV, Hillsbrad, etc. and the PvP slows leveling down even more. Not to mention those zones being full of low drop rate quests, camped quest mobs, and so on.

It doesn't cost blizzard jack shit to do a server transfer. It's probably entirely automated at this point.

Server transfers should be a free service but no gotta make a quick buck on everything.

And server populations don't matter since before transfers people just rerolled on the popular servers.

All in all considering how the servers work now there really shouldn't even be separate servers. You could have one server for each type of gameplay and then shard it out as the population grows. The servers already do this to an extent.

They don't lower server transfers because literally 80% of the servers would be even more empty than they already are.

If you go onto retail WoW you will see 95% of the available servers are all at the "Low" population. They refuse to merge the servers because it would be a PR nightmare since they JUST released a new expansion.

So they opt to continue to force players to be stuck on incredibly low population servers and just bank on the fact that everything is cross-realm anyways to keep players subscribed.

Realm community hasn't existed since Cata came out.

His theory about them not wanting people to server transfer beause it's counter to the game design philosophy of having a server community is irrelevant and refuted by the fact that literally everything in the game including very single zone are all cross-realm.

Their pricing for that shit is just out-dated and I don't think they have enough staff to develop content for the game let alone acknowledge the fact that their appearance change option doesn't actually do anything for about half of the races in the game ever since they introduced the face change in the barber. Yes, you read that correct. Appearance change literally gives you nothing but skin colour change for most of the races and it costs $20.

You pick up quests, you do them normally, and you aoe the ones that are aoe-able (ie/ you can aoe every ungoro quest, get 1.5 lvls in 2.5hrs there easily). Aoe grinding always felt best but I slowed down a lot after lvl 58 since xrewz hit 60 and I already got everything I wanted to get done
