I don't think you understand GCs

they are not reactable and can be done at any point in blockstun including the end, you won't be going "oh she did GC S on my shotgun, I'll just wait a couple frames now and block it", if you're frame trapping with a second move then the GC S will hit that second move. you need to deliberately wait for a GC and that means leaving gaps large enough for her to jump out. she has moves that can low profile but the point is that elphelt is even thinking about changing her pressure at all is what makes baiken strong against her.

also sakura is not the only GC, she has the teleport to get out of the corner and escape grenade setups for free.

I'd need some advice on getting a new device.

I'll be attending a major in February (SFV/KOF XIV) but unfortunately for me, nowadays games are played on PS4.

My main controller is the 360 Mad Catz fightpad. I'm used to it the most and it used to not be much of an issue until last year (I have the PS3 wired version which is similar). I did buy the new PS4 model from Mad Catz so I could attend tournaments, but the D pad is utter garbage.
I can play with a stick and own several, but they're all 360/PS3 or older.

As a result, I'm kind of controller less and have been out of the loop for quite some time when it comes to whatever came out lately.
I'm looking for a replacement stick/pad (I'm already looking into the Hori fighting commander) that isn't absurdly expensive (shit like TEs, I can't really afford something that is 200+$ right now).

My budget is probably between 80 and 150$ at most. I have no clue if a decent stick within this price range came out within the past 2/3 years, same for pads.

I wish I could just mod one of my 360 fightpads, but this is even more of a foreign territory. Regarding sticks, I'm used to TE's/Qanba/Viewlix stuff, so anything similar is good. I like them heavy and "big" if possible.

Namco basically is trying to get as much money as they can from arcades(aka Koreans). Tekken 7 may or may not be actually complete. I think at this point they might have 4-5 characters finished up but haven't announced them yet.

It's not that they're keeping the release date hidden, it's more like there is no actual release date because they don't feel pressured to drop the game yet. Arcade sales are doing fine.

Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve. if you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... I just bought akuma and was getting slaughtered in casuals since I'm super gold and don't know how to play him at all. I added some random korean guy and we played in a battle lounge for a good 5 hours. He taught me everything I need to know about akuma and was really friendly and patient with me.

I like how the D pad of the Mad Catz 360 version is "supple". I don't know how to explain, it feels "just right". I've bought like 20 of them over the past few years, they break easily (cable) unfortunately.

I've tried this controller a few times and the D pad always felt a bit too small/hard. However, I may have to switch to it as unlike Mad Catz, Hori keeps the same materials.

AA with DP(a bit risky) or 6P into cS2H (you might be able to skip cS and go for 6P2H into an aircombo)
basic ground to air conversion is 2H jc SPS jc SH 623H, works off a 6P AA, 236K RRC and throw RC
end grounded hitconfirms in 2D 236D and go for H fireball yrc oki
if no meter or grinder you can simply go for a meaty 6H after a knockdown
his combo trials are pretty useful so those should get you started.

Well, Ky has the tools for almost everything, but has low damage. Your good normals in neutral are f.S, c.S, 5H, 2S and 6H if you make a good read.
Your anti-air normals are 2H which is jump cancellable and 6P. 6P is really fucking good, basically you are a ghost above your elbow.
On the air use j.K for air to air and j.H for jumping in. You can also use your fireballs in the air, they have different angles. The H version is useful to control the screen, while the S version is used in mixup situations. If you out a grinder with j.D both versions become instant. Also remember that j.D is active for little time, so it's useful if you are expecting a jump after you already jumped. It's also useful because it stalls Ky a little in the air, so you can make pre-emptive aas fail.
Remember that your DP isn't a really good reversal because some moves can low profile it on the ground.
Your most important specials are the fireballs and 236D, which grant Ky eitheir great screen control or oki. The S version of the fireball becomes instant after it hits the grinder and on counter hit it knocks down. The H version becomes a multi-hit tool to pressure the opponent and crank up the risk meter.
Greed Sever is a meh overhead, stun dipper is punishable on block unless they FD both hits, so make sure to have 50 meter before using them. Stun dipper also must be spaced correctly or the opponent will block the second hit, unless it's a counter hit, then you have a guaranteed knockdown.

In neutral an YRCed S fireball guarantees you screen control, beware of using f.S too much because it has an extended hurtbox. If you want to close distance fast you can use your 3H and YRC it. Optimally your combos will end with grinder > sweep, use the H fireball and yrc it and you get your oki. Otherwise you can simply use 6H which is fucking great since it gives you tons of frame advantage, so you can 3H > 6K > grinder afterwards if they block.

If you are near the corner and have 50 meter you can instead finish your combo into grinder > Sacred Edge, which wall sticks and you can VT loop him. If you aren't near the corner you can sweep > Sacred Edge, dash, 2H, VT for some quick damage.

If you want to mash out of pressure use 2P.
Powered H fireball through grinder doesn't guarantee free mixups if they have a DP, so beware of that. Speaking of mixups, use empty jumps low, j.H, j.236S or just throw to fuck with your opponent. But if you want to get something out of the throw you must spend 50 meter.
