The thing is, you don't necessarily need to have a DD in front of the fleet just to spoof stuff. You SHOULD have one to spot for torps and intercept enemy DDs, as a picket escort, but it can be relatively close to the fleet. Also, flanking stealth DDs can pull off riskier maneuvers, getting closer to the fleet using their concealment or island.

With RPF around, the picket has to stray further away from his fleet to ensure he'll be the one getting detected by the skill. And the one doing the flanking has to take a safe approach, torping from further away, without islands ensuring concealment, and with no idea to whether or not he is getting RPF'd.

I have the suspicion that the RU server likes it, hence why they're introducing it despite all the reddit rage. AFAIK, DDs are not popular in the russian server anyway, so anything that shits all over them is welcome. After all, DDs make the game unfun for BBs. Just like how standard mode was forced to stay because of the RU server. Wouldn't want to bother the BBlyat players with silly stuff like multiple objectives ))))

The BB bow nerf was an exception since that one received widespread criticism across all servers. Though this is really giving too much credit to western "whining". I'm sure the only reason for why the bow nerf didn't go through was because RU server plays a whole lot more BBs and they gave their "feedback" very loudly.

As a Tier 4 premium, Dante would have all of this balanced by much weaker armor than Nikolai (in particular no turtleback, no "can bounce Yamato AP" 100 mm bow armor and only 305 mm rather than 400 mm conning tower), and at least a small amount of actual superstructure to catch shells. That would be enough to make Dante balanced at Tier 4, but not Tier 3.

8. The currently low rewards for spotting will probably be increased, perhaps already in 0.6.1. But rewards for spotting for damage and tanking will remain an additional source of experience and credits, not the main source.

9. The clans are the main priority for 2017. World of Tanks clans began with a global map. The WoWs clans will begin with random (clan?) battles, in which each clan member will earn bonuses for participating. Honestly the big issues with Bastion are
a) there's no incentive for doing anything to suppress an installation, so people only really try to do it when absolutely necessary or there are no other enemies to shoot
b) the surveillance stations basically made it impossible for a lone DD to try to take back a cap without 2-3 ships taking out the forts and stations, and fuck if a team will ever do that consistently.
Just give the equivalent of co-op rewards for damage to installations, and people will have reason to shoot at them. Also make those surveillance stations a little easier to hit.
