I'm currently in manila ia there any must have physicals that are English? Canada doesn't have games in stores. I did see ffx2 in store today in a single package, the spine and front were in English but the back was in Japanese...is there a way to know for sure whether the title is in English? Prices arent that great, woff was 2k pesos which is 70 bucks. Most of the older titles are under 1k pesos though.

I'm not too sure about your question. The only japanese game i have has a japanese back and english front (IA/VT).

For physical games to get, there's the limited run indie games that are good to get (like what happened with shovel knight)

Guy who asked for platformer recommendations awhile ago.
To my shock there really are startlingly few platformers on Vita (esp as someone who's played most of the indie ones on PC), so in the end I did decide to get Umihara despite having played the Snes and DS games a ton (after all, it is one of my favourite games).
I love the Vita version. It solves a lot of my gripes, mainly that I really dislike replaying content and I had to do the first couple levels of the SNES game like a hundred times. So yeah. Glad I got this.

It's quite decent. The battle system is refreshingly new in particular. However the fps is not best, though it's alright, and the quest / interaction with students system can be a little tedious.

The ones I'd recommend from last year are Ys Viii, Refrain, Utawarerumono 2 and 3, DQB and SaGa. Yet to play Firis and SAO HR.

Speed has to be the most versatile Mitama type for every weapon out there if you think about it.
It's offensive, it's more defensive than Defense Mitama, it's agile, it's DPS, it encompasses every aspect of combat.

Vigor is DPS because it modifies attack speed. Vigor+Nimble increases DPS even further, and Vigor+Special further increases damage of special attacks.

Agility has all the defense you need, even in your are Bow or Rifle faraway the added defense will make you unkillable from distance. It's something every weapon type can use.

Speed inherently makes your weapon drain less stamina, all the strongest attacks are hungry for stamina. Useful for every weapon. And Speed Master Minimize is invaluable.
And Energy boosts that stamina effect even further, Energy is also one of the few skills that has +(range) capability so you can buff team mates.

SPD would be the Mary Sue Mitama of all Mitamas if it had something for status ailments, that's really the only thing Defense Mitama has over it.

I disagree on this one. Shield+ (Range) is the best defense and covers all nearby allies with a permanent damage mitigation buff until hit. And while Taunt isn't the most effective aggro builder, it's great IF coupled with Lure Lv. 2 or Taunt (Protect) and Taunt (Amity). Basically, SPD is better than DEF if you go solo but if you want to party and act as a real Tank, DEF is leagued better.

I'd say the best point of SPD is the reduced Stamina consumption and high Accuracy modifiers to the skills it haves. For raw damage, ATK and PLN seem to be better although PLN doesn't have anything in terms of defense while ATK has defensive boosts to Might and Leech is a great way to heal and SPD, if used right, doesn't even need healing thanks to Agility.

Ultimate Oni can decimate that shield in 1 hit.
And that 1 hit will not only bleed into your HP bar, but your character can also be knocked back in the process.

Agility is immune to that, and it has no upper limit to max damage. Dual Agility can withstand twice as much.

I think the developers didn't pay enough attention to Defense.

The problem is that the DEF Mitamas suffer from being pointless. In hunting games, you should focus on avoiding the attacks entirely not to think how to withstand them. In that sense, the DEF Mitamas should work more as a Provoker, distracting the Onis while the other party members attack free of concerns and not as a shield to the party. However, Taunt sucks or at least isn't as effective as it should be.

There are sometimes where I think good defense is useful to allow you to be more reckless.
For example when I spam Flurry with gauntlets, it's good to have two layers of Agility so the Oni can't interrupt my attack spam.

I think this style of usage should also have been thought about more with the Basic shield the DEF mitama has.
The developers already had that intention with the Barrier spell.
They just needed to tweak how the Shield works, so it can mitigate a certain percentage of an Ultimate Oni's attack power.
I feel that it was a feature only intended for the Vanilla toukiden game, they forgot to revise it for Kiwami.

Agility has 100% migitation.
Shield should have something like 30%, with possibility to increase via more Mitama skills.

I already got the fearless one in that pic, still have the expert oni with no mitama, clothes or allies and the Ult cimmerian king with no clothes or allies. After that all that's left is catching less than 20 mitama, finishing all missions and crafting all clubs.

How does it work, can i put my PS4 in rest mode and still play on my Vita, or does my PS4 need to be fully on for me to be able to play on the vita?

Why do people praise darkest dungeon so much? I'm a fan of difficult RPGS/DRPGS and I fucking hated it. RNG plays far too much of a part and the combat is rather shallow. The second half in particular is just a horribly designed frustrating mess.

Dragon's crown is surprisingly not all that grindy outside of beating it once with all people, and that can literally be done with 45 minutes a person if you have friends (vitagen) to carry you through or some high leveled skeletons you want to revive and use as AI partners. All my rushed through characters are level 27 to give you a perspective of how fast it was to get through all that stuff.

Don't know about this Fate thing but Joan of Arc's a really interesting figure.

It's certainly worth acquainting yourself with her trial if you haven't already.

Main game isn't particularly difficult as long as you're keeping up with the bare minimum of healing items and weapons/equipment. Early on I recommend stocking a bunch of cheap reisen ointments in your basket for sustain out on the field because it'll be a long time before you'll get anything better.
Linca and Juris are technically the best characters for damage but not by too much, you can use anyone for the main game if you're not having trouble
You can stack the same properties (like Skill Enhance Lv.3) multiple times on accessories, but not dyes or weapon stones. Skill Enhance 3 is the most effective for damage on members that aren't Ayesha. It does effect her thrown item damage, but attack items suck complete ass at the end of the game and are only really good for debuffing.

At the end of the game, stock up on some good god's miracle drugs (the properties to transfer should be obvious), a shitload of forbidden capsules for three-move turns, and some needleless shots for debuff removal.

I recommend also making some magic squares with ability decline just for the stat debuff.

Look up a video for the exact properties to transfer if you need to. Transferring properties in ayesha is convoluted.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it's clunky but more of stale. They tried to innovate somewhat with MH4U, but everything feels kinda meh. Also the generic feeling of the world doesn't help. People can criticize whatever they want with FW, Toukiden, SS or GE or whatever but at least those have unique settings, atmosphere and designs. Fuck, I clearly remember almost all maps of Toukiden or FW and yet MH's are almost always have that same bland western medieval feeling. Maybe that's just me though. Or maybe I'm just genuinely tired of MH after the last 3 games.

The Sickle/Chain is fun as hell.
It's not real flight, it's like you become a dangling ball that has to orbit around the point you chose to aim, but it's still very fast and fun.
It's very timing dependent but easy once you get used to it, you unleash the chain throws at the right time to get as much gliding and speed as possible and can't just spam it because spamming the chain makes your flight slower.

And Mountain climbing with the Daggers is so easy to learn, and always fun, especially when the Onis are tall towers.

I played 1 and Freedom unite on the PSP and 3 ultimate as well, but on the 3DS. 1 felt like a primitive PS1 game, it was clunky as fuck. 3 is a lot better and pretty fun but only if you enjoying the gameplay. But yeah, it's still a port of a PSP game and compared to GE or Toukiden, which were also on the PSP, it felt really slower but not clunky per se.
