This is poor advice. When I first started I listened to this advice and constantly lost control of the earlygame board by keeping 1pp followers in hand. But the real trick is to learn not to rely on the OTK too heavily. You want to flood the board with 1pp followers early to force your opponent to respond and to whittle down their health. The lower it is, the easier it is to get the OTK off. And you can always bring them back into your hand with an Ancient Elf.

Don't put too many fairies and other 1 cost followers on the board so you can charge your roach without bounce. You still want to put stuff out the first few turns so you can get a big Ancient Elf early like always. Keep 0 cost cards for roach combos later too. Mini goblin will always get a roach when you put her out so put her into your roach calculations depending on your hand. It's an aggro deck that has Roach to just burst for a lot of damage in one turn, so you just have to keep a balance of keeping your board somewhat strong while also setting up roach combos.

I actually think the main thing is thinking TOO hard. I know when I first picked up, I wouldn't usr my burn unless it was gonna kill them or kill an enemy. Now I find it correct most of the time for example if I have no turn 4 play to just to just throw my demonic strike at their face so in case a swing happens i won't be stuck with multiple high pp finishers in hand like a strike and an imp Lancer and not be able to cast both in time. I never played dedicated legacy or modern burn decks in mtg and am more inclined towards card advantage centric decks so it feels wasteful at first to throw burn spells to the face for no reason.

Besides Haven (complete garbage), all the pre-builts are worth it. Blood and Forest are the best ones, and the rest is at least decent, since they all contain at least one copy of a very important Legendary (again, besides Haven).
You should honestly just build Aggro Blood for now, since it is one of the cheapest decks in the game and, convenently, tier 1, while you grind out all the cards you need for whatever deck you want to make. It's not hard at all to have a fully functional 15k vials deck in less than a week (or even 2-3 days, depending on how much time you invest in the game). Play the story mode, beat all the Elite AIs on practice mode (200 Gold each), buy packs and then go look up what you want to build.
Don't vial Legendaries/Golds you are not absolutely sure are complete trash, feel free to ask here whether you should vial something or not.
