Part of my plan is to either spruce up the wiki to be more comprehensive, or use something entirely new to serve as a case database (although the former is vastly preferred)

The other part is getting all the different sources for recordings all into one place to better organize them. I hope to accomplish this by creating a network for people who stream/record cases and save google docs to communicate, as well as give them access to a singular shared google account, so that all uploaded or exported case videos can be managed on one youtube account, and copies of all completed docs can be saved and managed on one google drive account. This system will not only help make things easier for members to access past cases, but it'll also have proper redundancy, so that if something does happen to the system, the original versions of any recordings or documents will remain available

Here's an idea.

What if instead Evidence being described by literal paragraphs, with detectives adding more paragraphs later in CE, the evidence is only listed by name, and the Detective later expounds upon the evidence in his testimony (exception being autopsy and murder weapon, and things like setting)?

I feel like Detective right now is a very linear role, because the Detective serves no purpose other than to present evidence and then give Defense ammo for asspulls later through CE. If we did it this style, Detectives would have a lot more fun.

Not only this, but I feel it would bring several advantages. First, there'd be less information on evidence in general, which I think is good since evidence recently has gotten extremely wordy, and I don't think it's a coincidence that most contradictions these days are inter-witness contradictions.

Secondly, I feel like it would make cases more freeform. Neither the prosecution nor defense has any idea what to expect from the evidence, and therefore they have to adapt, and more witnesses will be willing to use evidence for contradictions later.

I really feel like information overload has gotten us away from the spirit of improvs. Every witness writes what their role is going to be. All the evidence is known by everyone at the beginning of the case, testimonies go on for years (I would suggest a time limit but that wouldn't go over well). Doing this could really help us in that respect.

Obivously I'm suggesting this because I am nostalgic for the early days of 2016 when this game was going but I'd feel remiss to not mention my other suggestion.

If no one likes the idea of cases being more freeform, one idea I'd like to implement is that witnesses would tell the Judge what their intended contradictions are before they go to testify. No one else, just the Judge.

The reason for this is two-fold. One, because most of our cases basically run like pre-writtens only no one knows what the endgame is. Doing this allows at least someone other than the witness to have an idea of where the case should be heading.

Also, the Judge who should be the one handling the penalties, and controlling the flow of the case, often is reluctant to do either, simply because he never has any clue whether or not the Defense or Prosecution is onto anything. He's simply making guesses based on the witnesses emoting. This way, when someone is way off the mark, they can be properly penalized because the Judge knows where the case should be going.

That's all the suggestions I really have.

Considering the building process, it's hard for evidence to simply not be described, so maybe some base description, like where it was found, at the least would be fine.

I agree that the Detective should have a more important role rather than just "here's the evidence, we showed up at xx:xx time, requests?"

Witness profiles can be useful if only to remember who they are and the relation to the case.

We didn't know how to do things properly, so for the most part we winged it and it was a lot more fun to just improv.
