the shells behave in an artillery manner so if they're angled right they could. Depends on what hill/mountain it is. Super tall one and you're right against it? You're more than likely safe.

Though on the Clover map the northern Mountain has gaps here and there that can be shot over, and allows hitting a few spots from very long range depending on positioning.

The game is like WoWS was in an old Alpha Build before Russians said it wasn't bad enough to live up to their expectations of sinking while leaving Harbor.

It is not pay to win, but there is some pay to not grind commanders.

It doesn't have that, just download from steam. Also check the OP for newbies info about events and such. Besides that you can ask anything here.

No. You can get to T1 to 10 withouth spending a single cent. Also, if you need gold (real money) for stuff the game itself gives away tons of it for free, many anons here haven't spent anything in the game and yet have several prem ships, half a year or more of VIP time and other stuff.

Check the DLC area of Steel Ocean's store page for Thanksgiving and Anniversary packages.
Some port slots, lot of silver, merit for commanders. Those and the Repulse are basically the "Welcome to the game" stuff for SO, without requiring limited time codes and such.

This game's like Navyfield meets World of Tanks and Battlefield.

It has more mechanics than WoWS and personal skill can be a deciding factor compared to regular prayers to the RNG-Gods.

It is still relatively unheard of by most people though so the playerbase is on the smaller side.

But they put out regular updates and ship lines and have been workin to make due with what they have.
