Rhinoceroach is quickly becoming one of my favorite cards. It's just so energetic and huggable. Practically costs nothing at all at two PP you drop him on the board and that miracle ass motherfucker gives you damage based on how many of his little buddies you've played the same turn. And you also get to keep this adorable little 1/1 that can ping things but usually just wants to come back to your hand to cuddle.
But more than the Roach itself is just so positive. It comes on the board like "kttrrhschh" and I'm like "yeah Roach buddy kttrchh indeed let's finish the game on turn 7 with no previous board presence" and when he attacks he's like "KRIII" and I'm like "yeah isn't it great to win?" He doesn't say some bullshit cringy shit like "These golden wings will end you!" he's just like "HISSS!" And it looks so happy. I mean this guy is BOTH a Rhinoceros AND a Roach. It understands its life is a gift from unethical inter-species mixing and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean look at his face he's just so happy.
I am literally never sad when Rhinoceroach is on board. IDK if he's gonna make it into the metagame or not but for now he (or she) a pretty chill card

Team 5 could easily make a good game. But their goal isn't to make a good game. Its to "create an experience" whatever the fuck that means. Their goals are basically schizophrenic. They can't decide what they want to do so they DL everything. They want an esport. But they don't want their game to be too complex. They want a casual game people at the water cooler can play with each other, but to even get a decent deck and workable understanding of the game you need to invest a ton of time and a lot of money.

Hearthstone team is making the same mistakes every company has made since 2008-2010. They cater to normies. They reduce the skill ceiling and reduce the complexity. You can't really predict what normies will buy because they're fickle and follow the popular trends. And no one can predicts what'll be popular in the future. Normies don't stick around, theyre not loyal to any hobby .
Their interests are fleeting. Of course the useless fucks with advertising jobs have to justify their existence and come up with "strategies" for "generating" a "larger player base" but that's all bullshit board room talk.

Its the same thing all over the place. Sound engineers shove in useless sound effects into movies and TV shows to justify their job. Bureaucrats make useless regulations to justify their job and have their budgets renewed . its all so tiresome. God forbid these people get real jobs and contribute to society.

Dragon Priest (not Reno Priest) is very cheap to make, and is a midrange tempo deck with control options late game. It's not pure control but it only has one optional legendary, Brann. Jade Druid is similar (minion based deck aiming to go for late game) but requires Brann and Fandrel.

Pure control decks are usually expensive I'm afraid.

Well guys, I didn't want to share this, but some guy asked me for the decklist in client and I let it leak already. So I guess I'll give abit back to /hsg/, I climbed from rank 17 to 7 (currently) with this deck. It's the only functional jade list I've seen. Have fun... Some notes are: mulligan aggresively for early drops. raptor swarmer but dont hold of on doing thalnos either. it's often better to use it for aya mid to late, but early jsut drop it if you have nothing else. shadowcaster -> brann is good if you have the initiative and cards to use it with. rag shadowcaster is a good finisher if rag sticks. argus shadow caster comboniation has beat many pirate warrior games for me.ps. never seen this deck anywhere else. you saw it here first. :) ~Rocco

The Win Axe thing is not 95%, it's ~50% if they mulligan for it. If by skill portal you mean Firelands Portal, there are only 5 good 5 drop Legendaries to get off it. 5 out of 72 is not very likely.

the diferences in dust from lower rarity to higher rarity was something along the lines of 40(common) - 80 (rare) - 120(epic) - 200(legendary)

Packs now cost 50 gold or each win gets you 10 gold

if more cards were printed to balance the amount of new cards players could get, this game would be a much more fun experience

Exactly the same stats and cost and Azure drake, but trades Draw 1 and 1 spell damage for taunt and deal 2 damage to everything

Obviously the taunt cant even compare to the draw, but its about on par with spell damage in terms of use against aggro decks.

The problem with aggro decks is so many cards have been released to support the archetype

The point is that you never even see 1/2 to 2/3rds of your deck because games end so fast, but you can staying power and burn out too quickly

But now because classes have so many aggro beneficial cards, it doesnt matter if they see 2/3rds of their deck, they can kill you in 4 turns with 1/3rd

Shamans can see only the top 10 cards of their deck, and this 10 can contain

>Tunnel trogg
>Flamewreathed faceless
>Lightning bolt
>Lava burst
>A weapon
>a pirate

And thats enough to kill you. 6 cards with doubles of each is 12 + patches. Just over 1/3rd of the deck, and they see any combination of cards in their first 10 cards (It doesnt matter what 10 they see, any 10 will do because they're all low curve, efficient and fast) and kill you with it

Hearthstone is beyond repair right now.
Fire EVERYONE in Team 5 and replace them with a decent team, rebalance the entire game by nerfind/buffing the existing cards, release the expansion which further unfucks the game. Add the in-game replay feature, the option to replay past Tavern Brawls with friends, fix a shitload of bugs there are, make the new client from scratch because the current one sucks ass, rebalance Arena by changing the rarity of basic/common cards like Flamestrike, reduce the impact of RNG cards, and so on, and so on.

But that's too much work to do, because Hearthstone is fine, because it's not a card game, but le epic youtube video generator. And you are stuck playing it forever.

Hearthstone however there are no tournaments. There's just an endless ladder with no rewards. You play thousands and thousands of games with no structure and it doesn't matter how many you win. Plants vs Zombies Heroes has a "shield" system that basically builds up a free spell and blocks damage when your hero is hit a certain amount of times, punishing players that flood with small minions. Hearthstone needs something like this.

a couple days ago i came here and asked how much and what my friend should buy since he was just starting out
you guys all responded so much and 90% was a hard "dont do it"
ill give a little update

hes been having a lot of fun and finds himself logging in a lot or coming home and wanting to play
he makes very beginner mistakes akin to turn 4 fireball to face, going face a lot and getting overwhelmed on the board, trading misplays that lose him minions etc
playing with very little cards puts you against those same accounts in casual that make mistakes like that too which to me seems very fair, knowing what lies ahead
so its very fun and a good environment to learn

ive looked at information like how too many games or too many legendaries removes your ability to play against these new accounts, the first old gods pack gives you c'thun (and some c'thun buffing minions?), trump teachings since they are the perfect tutorial

so currently i put him on the following plan:
not opening any packs, not buying the welcome bundle yet and just playing in this fair environment and learning. when he does gets kicked from the beginner matchmaking then we will get stuff and see what we can make.
tavern brawl seems pretty fun to unlock but not something to rush for since the risk and uncertainty of that suddenly changing the matchmaking is deadly
watching an episode of trump teachings, creating the deck and then trying it out and learning the concept so today we will do a new one of those

Not the same guy but while shadowverse showers you with packs and many arena runs by just logging in and finishing campaign the decks are 40 cards size and you can run 3 of each card, even legendaries, so the meta decks with many high rarity cards are reaaally fucking expensive to make.
