I'm just looking through meshes looking for some good ones to use for my various Plasma caster parts. I tried editing the Thirst Zapper mesh for the Overclocked barrel, and I don't think I'll be using it. Its one of those things that screams "mashup".

I'm looking for stuff I could use, cut up in 3ds, and piece together to resemble kinda like what I have in mind. I might use a mini nuke, with plasma tubes and other doodads on it, for the Overclocked barrel.

Also, I'm kinda pitying this general and how slow it moves, so I'm also giving the thread mercy bumps. I know its late at night but this place would have 404'd last night were it not for me telling people to bump the thread.

I actually already have some parts set up for the claw barrel

Grognak's Axe has some parts that can be tweaked in 3ds to work well for a clawed barrel, I'm also going to make a more high tech sleeker clawed barrel as well. Might give it the same functionality, just simply cosmetic.

As for the Sleeker claws, the missile bayonet could work for that quite well, with a chrome texture instead of 100% rust. I don't understand why the missile launcher is so fucking rusty, even compared to Pipe weapons.

Keep the ENB or lose it? I like the sharpness and how it isn't a total change from the vanilla looks, but the lack of 'fake lighting' makes everything a bit more atmospheric.

That said, in dark areas the devs clearly designed around the idea of the fake light, as there are real elements of can't see shit. As taking screenshots is a large part of my fun, that could be a real issue.

That might work on my Enclave rp, but the fuck-you glow of laser fire and plasma will provide plenty of extra light anyway, and the torch eyes on power armor.

It's more my Silver Shroud playthrough. I'm sticking with just the vanilla outfit. And night vision usually looks shitty for story telling screenshots.

That Synth Nora mod, and upcoming "real" Nora mod get me to thinking.

There's nothing much left to do, besides making guns, and I saw some sex mods on that Loverslab thread. I think its time to make a Waifu fortress somewhere with all the female companions, and Synth Nora + alive Nora, and build a harem. This will be no ordinary harem. Each of them is going to have X-01 Power armor. I'll turn Curie into a synth, but Ada can come along, too.

Oh and is there a stable multiple follower mod? Might be fun to give all my waifus their weapons and power armor and go out purging the wasteland.

The female Road Leathers looks very similar to Kenshiro's outfit, more than the male version, since the female's is sleeveless. You'd probably have to do more work with the male's version, but you could probably do some cutting and pasting from the other outfits to get a sleeveless version, maybe slap certain elements from Leather or other armor to match Kenshiro's.

Would make for a fun Dwarf fortress 3d clone if you had to strategically build to avoid being overrun by whatever's invading, building catapults, magic defenses, etc.

There's a whole lot more there to play around with, when a settlement gets raided in FO, its usually raiders, gunners, or super mutants. In TES they could make it Orc, Goblins, bandits, angry elves, daedra, dragons, giants, ghosts, giant spiders, I dunno man.

But no pre-existing settlements would kinda suck. I'd also like more moral choices for settlements if they develop it further, like developing alliances with other settlements, or simply killing them and taking everything, conquering the entire game world, maybe also allowing the player to ally with Daedra / Dragons by doing certain tasks, like sacrificing a whole ton of dudes to get some Daedra lord to think "I like this guy he entertains me, I will give him stuff" or getting a dragon to become a vassal by capturing it, or speechcrafting it / giving it gifts.

We are a while off decent handholding mods yet, FO4se has got to catch up.

That said, yeah. FO4 is surprisingly complete, and few of the mods most us needed/wanted didn't need it.

The only mods I'm waiting on now is Wonder Body getting continued and tweaked, handholding mods, and a FO4 Groovatron. We have a few mods that add a few of the functions, but nothing quite there yet.

Survivor Relaxes Too would be nice, but take a leaf out Skyrim's book. I really liked being able to use the same idle points as NPCs for screenshots.

Yep. It's going well enough thanks, as far as actually playing goes I'm still back in FO3 before the Purifier. Been focusing on my AntAgonizer/Unstoppables concept.

Mostly, I've been tweaking mods to make the transition to FO4 smoother. Added X-02 to the FCOM mod and given them the Enclave cap that Buff ported. Hoping the Resurgence mod becomes something, but in all likelihood it will work better to just handle the setup myself.

I'm trying to decide how ruthless my protagonist through FO3 and NV will be, and same for Nate. Loyal to the ideals of the Enclave, while being more moderate like Autumn, means that places like Underworld, Jacobstown, and Goodneighbor get brutally purged. It will be kind of fun, as I've never played like that before.

The issue I'm having at the moment is the FO3 MQ is such a slog, and always the same, and it's doubly irritating as I so recently did it with the AntAgonizer.

One I get past it, FO3 should actually go pretty fast. There aren't that many quests in the game, really, and it's not like there is much motivation to stick around DC when the Purifier is solidly in civilian hands. You aren't going to win hearts and minds by trying to take it from them.

New Vegas should be pretty straight forwards too, as I haven't played it for while and I could play it forever anyway. The linear plot with an actual ending will help.

Fallout 4 is the complex one, as any Enclave connections are ones I, or mods, have to include. Nate has no reason to side with them outside loyalty to his country and their claim to be what that government looks like in 2280.

On a lighter note, I finally got to making my Plasma Caster prong.

It was a pain in the heiney! I had to spend about three hours cutting up and vertex editing Grognak's Axe before I got it in an acceptable shape. The textures kinda stretchy but it'll look better when its all one plain chrome texture.

Because doing that feels cheap, and making it work within canon with only minor deviations makes me feel clever and the play-through somewhat legitimate.

Though, that said I sort of have done, in a round about way. Julia is actually my Lone Wanderer's companion, I just altered a downloaded one, until he dies like in the base FO3. From then onward I play as her. I would considering playing as a decoy protagonist until he dies as technically an alternate start. None is needed for New Vegas, the only thing you have to keep in mind is some courier experience, which can easily be passed off as spying.

I would even argue that Nate is actually a pretty good option. Hell, accepting the Enclave as the remnants of the government, and also wanting to restore the world, is as good a motive as any. The Enclave has a lot of offer a Sole Survivor.

It makes up for the structural weakness of the Minutemen by giving it's leaders, if not the people in the militia, active loyalties and ties beyond their own morality and self-interest. It also gives another motive to taking the Institute, and then defanging it.

We see from the opening, and then ending, slides that the default Nate/Nora basically wishes they could put the world back together and make things how they were. Frankly that is a powerful motivator for a SS still barely having taken the Castle and still chasing the Institute through a broken and terrible world to take the Enclave at face value. Meeting a 100 Speech Not-LW/Courier turned Colonel for the sales pitch would also help.

Actually changing the shape of the prong mesh risks breaking the vertices but I think I got it looking acceptable. I hate to ask but, what is the deal with papyrus lag? i remember it in skyrim and im just making my first fo4 run. I have 40 mods, few of them are scripts, and i get shit like this in the SS. The turret didnt respond until like 5 seconds in.

I tried lowering graphics, and disabling all mods, reloading this part, they still acted the same.

Is there some miracle cure for this? Because the game doesnt seem fun or challenging when everyone reacts like a sloth.

I've been trying to keep the legion neutral and completed the Nelson mission for the NCR by only making their own soldiers fight.
If I free the guys on the crosses the legion soldiers become hostile anyway, but no warning about my relations worsening with the faction pops out (If I shoot back it does). The legion relationship status doesn't show in the pip-boy probably because I haven't found a proper legion camp yet.
Will I be hostile with all legions soldiers from now on, or is it just the ones in the area?

It's a little tricky but it's doable. The only problem is you can't talk to PAM after. She wants to nuke the Brotherhood.

1. Help the MM up to the castle.
2. Help the Brotherhood up to getting the nukes for Prime. AVOID KELLS. Talking to him after you get LP up and running will trigger the quest to kill the Railroad and they'll turn hostile.
3. Help the Railroad out with the few quests they have. You can go up to Underground Undercover.
4. Get to the Institute with the Minutemen.
5. You can either tell Father to go fuck himself or you can do a couple of the Institute quests.
either way, you gotta get banished from the institute eventually. You will do so automatically if you help the Brotherhood with the Mass Fusion quest.
6. Getting yourself banned from the Institute will fail underground undercover so the Railroad will tell you to ask the Minutemen for help.
7. Blow up the Institute with the MM. All factions except for the Institute will be alive and friendly. You can take quests from all of them with all companions.

Oh also if you do the Battle for Bunker Hill, don't shoot anybody. Doing so will make them hostile. You can run the entire thing without anybody shooting you or shooting back.

The only issue will be a couple of turrets, but they can be run right past. I don't know what destroying them does for faction relations.

Skills checks existed in older CRPGs due to technological limitations
-You needed a perception check to spot traps because old game didn't have the graphics to model them, so they put them as red boxes and used perception checks to "hide" them
-You needed AGI to outrun a boulder because older RPGs didn't have the fine controls needed to do it in a way that didn't suck.
-You needed checks of things like INT, or Science, or Guns, because older games didn't have the ability to implement multiple information sources beyond NPC dialogue dumps.

etc etc.

But with modern technology
-They can just hide traps in the game world and let the player spot them, eliminating the need for a perception check

-Control are now accurate enough that if they want you to outrun a boulder, they can just let you do it

-And when it comes to tests of knowledge, games now have a wide plethora of books, notes, terminal entries, e-mails, that can provide the same information in a far more logical way then just magically making you know it via stat dumping, thus eliminating the need for 99% of checks based on knowledge rather then physical action.

Skill checks are nothing but a crutch used when the devs need to abstract something.

This is true in both Far Harbor and Nuka world's skill checks as well.

Eh, that's fair. Like I say, I'm pretty much at the limit of what I think I can reasonably fit in, and after this screening-run I'd probably never use them again, so I don't know why I even suggested it.

It's coming home to me once more just how small FO4 actually is when you brush away the MQ and 'exploring' the same prefab enviroments. There has to be less than a dozen proper quests, not counting radiants, and then whatever the DLC add.

It's my concept for the Shroud's 'Crypt' in my Atomic Heroes run through the series. As for the actual location, it's the Sewer basement from the Basement Living mod, cleaned up of all the debris in the Creation Kit. It works nicely, because the sewer exit explains how he can get in and out of Diamond City unnoticed.

That's been an issue for my AntAgonizer in Megaton (it's on top of the house, then leap and climb over the wall), and will be even harder from the Lucky 38. It's going to end up with her identity as an open secret at this rate.

The thing about FO3 is that while it has maybe only a few more actual quests, it has a shitton of unmarked content, and actual interesting locations to find. I still find new stuff to this day.

A lot of the effort of FO4, aside from the obvious focus on building settlements, is on making Boston feel like one large settlement. There are a few unmarked things, like Dunwich, but they seem less interesting, and less varied.

One thing I am starting to appreciate in FO4 is Boston itself. I used to give it shit about only having two, or three if you count the one where the battle happens, proper settlements and Goodneighbor being tiny. People live throughout the ruins, not just in Diamond City and Good Neighbor. The city and wasteland has a lot more 'normal' life than FO3 or NV ever did. Hell, downtown Boston is what the top half of New Vegas map should have been.

See, you aren't wrong, but Vegas is a sprawling city, and should have been as sprawling as downtown DC or Boston. You certainly shouldn't have been able to circle it so easily. I'm aware of limitations, so it could have just been an illusion. All they had to do was have what we did, but the lone entrance to the Strip and Vegas proper be where the hills and HH entry was. Have the 'rest' of Vegas be LOD outside the map, in the same way DC was if you looked at it from the outside. It would have given it the illusion of size, and any actual depth would have been handled from within, with cells, again, like DC.

Instead, it's all spread out over a sparse, small, and clean area. It resembles this in no way at all.

See, I think that might have been the intention back in FO2, with the 'ghoul retirement' home. Thing is, FO3 came along further decades in-universe as we had pre-war ghouls (like the guy in Point Lookout) who seemed pretty much unchanged, and guys like Raul who it generally seems to be psychological.

That said, even Marcus is looking old, but it's only East coast mutants who get bigger rather than older, so who fucking knows at this point. We still haven't seen one expire of old age yet.

When you are still walking the wastes over two-hundred years after the bombs should have ended you, 'aging' is little more than a philosophical thing anyway. they are already basically walking corpses. Except in FO4, where they just look like burn victims (different 'breed' of ghoul?)

I added more greebles and eye candy parts to the turbo receiver. This will look a bit better when I do the texturing, the ridges at the top are going to be green.

And now Turbo receiver is done, I'll do the Overclocked one tonight. It'll be a bit sleeker in its design. I think I've managed to design something that resembles the original but isn't as hokey looking.

As for damage on mine, I think I'm gonna make the damage fairly substantial.

the regular receiver will do like 100 damage. 200 with heavy guns perk. I think making it scale further with energy would make it OP, but I haven't even begun balancing CK stuff yet.

So

Default receiver = 100 damage (semi-auto)
Turbo receiver = 50 damage (fully auto)
Overclocked receiver = 100 damage (fully auto) (but uses overcharged plasma canisters, which are condensed from other ones, thus higher ammo consumption)

The flamer attachment I think I'll make do 30% more plasma thrower damage. In addition to 2x range. I think that would still be devastating because a plasma thrower is lethal to almost anything from what I have seen up close.

The shotgun attachment will be spread out, and with turbo and overclocked receiver it will basically become a plasma minigun at that point

The cannon attachment will do 500 damage, scales to 1000 with perks. Splash will be about 1/2 fatman size. Or maybe I'll go ahead and make it 3/4 fatman size. I want it to use a lot of ammo at once to balance it, and with turbo and overclocked receivers, you'll definitely wreck shit but you'll be blowing thousands of caps on ammunition just spamming it.

Yep, bought at launch, season pass before it got expensive. I've played up until now pretty issue free, and considered FO4 one of the most stable games Beth has released.

Fuck no. One of the reasons I could never get into Skyrim was the floaty and weak combat. You hit someone, ketchup flies out, and unless you 'crit' and stagger them they don't even flinch, endlessly charging and looping the same attacks over again. Magic is about the only interesting part, as usually tends to be the case in TES.

Fallout 4 has learned it's lesson and bringing in the shooter techs. Enemies flinch when you shoot or hit them. They take cover. They frank you. I mean, it's far from perfect, but it's a hell of an improvement on the older forumae.

I'm having my good slice of fun running a tinkerer build: scavenging everything (strong back perk), and using it to expand all my settlements, mod my weapons, improve my gear. It's also a good excuse for a good number of mods; I like creating robots to defend my settlements, and sometimes I took them with me in the wastelands.

Crafting special bullets and grenades makes gunplay a lot more fun.

It's also a good excuse to leave the main questline aside for a while, and focus on exploring, and creating your character.

Just curious, did you take out all of the Sanctuary pre-war homes? Did you run into any optimization issues after removing them, like things not loading behind the house because they never intended for them to be removed, thus acting as a loading barrier? And the Overclocked receiver's model is done.

Now to do the different barrel types. I think I'm gonna keep them "mostly" the default. For the scatter I think I'm gonna add 5 / 6 scatter barrels on the end, so it will basically be a plasma minigun in appearance. For flamer I think I'll use 2x flamer barrels, scaled up.

Also I know this thing looks like a giant mini nuke, when I'm done texturing it will be solid chrome. The fin is mainly for decorative purposes but it also doubles as an iron sight :D

In FO4 it's because Nate is clearly intended to be the protagonist, whether we can play as the Lawyer wife or not. He was in all the trailers, which alone might not be enough as that's typical, but he even narrates the opening and refers to ancestors, and you have to switch away from him to play Nora, and he then takes the typically feminine roll in the prologue (nagging from the sofa to get shit done, carrying the baby, and getting shot in the face rather than punching Kelogg in the throat and trying to take his gun). And that's before his military record comes up several times through the game in quests. Even all the settlement and workbench stuff is more typically masculine, and makes sense for a guy, not not a lady lawyer.

I really don't get why they didn't keep them both as having served. She keeps the diploma anyway. It's not like having a law degree and a mother doesn't arbitarily put her at her late twenties at the youngest.

Oddly, I feel a female Lone Wanderer actually makes more sense due to all the early black widow choices, and the 'feels' based plot of chasing your father.

I imagine, if we had to come up with something in lore other than no one ever considered it, it's because the nukes of FO3 onwards are considered to be an evolution of the science and not what we know. It's 'magic' radiation, in the 'any sufficiently advanced science' sense. The nukes are also varied yields and destructive potential to a strange degree. And this is before you get into the supernatural shit that ghouls basically are, and all the Atom shit is just running with. There is an active 'dark' Lovecraftian entity in the lore now, somehow tied to radiation.

In the old days, it was left more ambiguous as to how the ghouls of Necropolis where made, as they seemed to be an isolated incident. Some people blamed the FEV in the air, but that made no sense, as they were made before it was really a thing.

Bethesda just basically answered a hanging question with (as per your image) Batman Beyond logic.

The only graphical problems I've had is sometimes the LOD will completely fuck up and buildings, textures, even the floor will just disappear. This tends to happen for about 15 minutes or so, then it calms down and doesn't seem to happen at all after that. So as long as you can just put up with the bullshit for 15 mins.

And let's face it, no one has even done it satisfactorily in TES. Morrowblivion felt tacky and shitty, and very much like a mod. And to my knowledge neither Skywind or Skyblivion are actually released.

That said, while it was far easier due to NV being basically a stand-alone expansion, TTW was a damn fine bit of work. I never used it, but I admire the work that went into it. So, I wouldn't quite say there is no hope. Someone has already made Securitrons for Automatron, and NCR stuff. It's not like there is zero chance. Just really, really low.

I'm thinking of giving Plas-Man some robotic minions (that he's built himself, and they're armed the plasma cannons)

I want them to have unique models, mainly Assaultron legs, robobrain torso, Assaultron / sentry head, and robobrain arms / sentry arms.

But I can't for the life of me decide what they should look like. Any ideas? Also these parts will be buildable once you find some of their blueprints. You'll be able to make dual plasma cannon wielding robots and they'll be terribly effective.

I kinda already had an idea, but eeeehhhhh...I dunno if I wanna go too cartoony with them. Also mine looks like the Iron Giant.

Yeah you get barred from them really easily if you only give them the courser chip. Any interaction with the institute without completing a side quest or two for them puts you into the red and locks you out from further quests.

You even have the option to say "Hey I really do wanna help you guys" but Desmonda just tells you to fuck off and calls you a piece of shit. Keep in mind you've done nothing to them at this point. No institute missions, no betrayal, no giving Minutemen or BoS any information.

The only thing I'd done at that point was enter the institute and build a teleporter.

Whether it's poor writing or they're really meant to be such massive assholes all it did was completely disregard them as a faction by the end of the game.

Alright, Slider Presets get installed to:

Fallout 4\Data\Tools\BodySlide\SliderPresets

Then you launch BodySlide and select the Preset from the second drop down menu at the top.

Now you can just press "Batch Build" at the bottom left to shape all your outfits to that Preset.

If it came with a "clothed" preset, you can now go through your outfits with the topmost drop down and pick out 'tight' outfits that would press your breasts together like the clothed preset does. But this step is entirely optional.

Make good settlements with all the resources and you shouldn't have much problems.

You should be able to have a large enough surplus on water its the easiest thing in the game to farm. Having routes connecting your settlements and having a lot of settlements you shouldn't run out of water while crafting.

Raids are less frequent with high defense.

Store your favorite weapons at home plate or an empty settlement.

You could go with robots, but that's taking the easy way out.

Nothing I do fucking matters in this game. Battle of Bunker Hill you can choose to inform the Brotherhood and the Railroad but if you do it makes absolutely 0 difference, Brotherhood magically know anyway, theres no difference in troop strength. It doesn't matter what I say in dialogue options because it all makes the same exact conclusion 75% of the time.

I pray that in the next year mods will really make this a good game.

NEO Scavenger is good but lacks most of those elements, it's tile based, and simple slip-ups can cost you your life after spending a few in-game days trying to manage your fever from drinking bad water or not replacing your bandages from an injury often enough.

So I've been dicking around with legendary weapon effects, and I figured I'd chuck up here what I've figured out.

Best weapon effect? Is basically a tossup, because it depends on the base weapon. If it's a high rof/low damage weapon like a minigun, the explosive effect turns it into an absolute rapecannon. But you have to be careful with the explosive as it can end up killing you near instantly. Furious is probably the best all-rounder with any semi-auto/rapidly firing medium-high damage weapon. Two-shot is really good for weapons with really low rates of fire, or that generally one shot.

But Furious would be my, when in doubt, pick because Explosive is a really dangerous double-edged sword if you fire up close.

^ I did my testing against Enraged Fog Crawlers on Very Hard (with all perks @ lvl 100), explosive minigun rules the roost for killing it quickly; it will do it in 10 rounds w/ VATS, but if you're close you'll probably die too or nearly die if you have like absolutely broken armor/power armor. A furious handmade rifle with the powerful semi-auto receiver kills it in ~30 rounds.

war of the commonwealth can add tons of spawns, but if you set its settings to high, it tends to lead to save bloat, and most scripts start takeing an extra minute or 2 to actually fire, basically ruining the save.

If I use human provisioners to patrol the commonwealth in high end power armor, would I have to make repairs to them? I only ask because exploiting the NPC laser gatling glitch combined with the fact that they don't run out of Nuka Quantum Grenades makes for lulzy scenarios where they waltz into deathtraps like the Quincy ruins and leave a smoking crater for me to loot.

I'm reinstalling FO4 after being away for a while. Are there any recommended armor/weapon mods, or combat overhauls I should look into? I looked through the OP pastebins and didn't see anything aside from settlement mods.

Will I be okay not downloading the unofficial patch or am I going to run into some game-breaking bugs without it? Is there a way to fix VATS freezing randomly in Fallout 4? It doesn't happen very often for me, but it's a pain in the ass when it happens in survival mode and I have to redo something.

Any good mods that make Fallout 4 look more visually like Fallout 3?

Fallout 3 nailed the ambience and atmosphere. When I stepped out into the wasteland for the first time it just took my breath away. Just this massive, bleak, harsh wasteland. But Fallout 4 just looks like a happy sesame street game or any modern open-world game like GTA or Watch Dogs. Way too cheerful and bright. Feels like I'm going on a fucking picnic.

I want that yellow-green haze and fog back. It's called 'Fallout', but I don't see any actual fallout, just looks like a children's cartoon. wtf

Actually Mr Handies only seem that way because they are programmed to. For instance, if you eat a human in front of Codsworth he simply says "Well thats one way to get protein"

He wasn't programmed to know that it is morally abhorrent. If he had a synth body he might react differently. Curie for example started expressing remorse over the colleagues she had that died when she becomes a synth iirc.

However most Mr Handies IMO are waaaaaaaaaaay more advanced than Gen 1 and Gen 2 synths in the "seemingly sapient" category. I dunno why the Institute didn't just build upon them. Oh, except for Nick and Dima I suppose.

Nah, but what you're looking for is a piss-filter. Pic related. You get it when a radstorm hits, which is the one time outside of the glowing sea that there's going to be actual "fallout".

To actually answer your question, look for ReShade presets on the Nexus. Not seeing anything that cranks up the green, but I've never looked in the files so it could be easy enough to make. I'd rec Dynavision but that's NV and 3, but exactly what you'd want.

Also the gen 1s and 2s were never really given the chance to become like the most people like robots, and have other significant faults in being mere steps on the road to the gen 3s. It's not really fair to compare bots pretty much built to do menial bullshit to ones that largely did far more complex tasks requiring them to be persons and have also had hundreds of years for their programming to evolve beyond it's intended purposes.

Nick and DiMA are far more fair comparisons to the pinnacle of Institute robotics, and they're rather comfortably ahead of the other robots.

Codsworth's non-humanness, as another anon pointed out, sometimes comes out whenever you're doing something he doesn't understand. Robco didn't bother to program in "Eating people being bad" probably because they thought it wouldn't happen often, or at all, and Codsworth simply remarks on you eating a tasty snack when you eat a guy. A Gen 3 synth would be afraid of you doing that, especially if they think they're next.

Because Bethesda blurred the line between player character and established character in a bad way. I think Vault 101 was especially bad, you're there for like an hour or more. Maybe two.

New Vegas and Morrowind were kinda good, you're in the game world pretty damn quickly. Skyrim's intro was a little long but I liked it more than FO3's intro.

The silly thing with FO4's intro being so short is the fact that you can remake your character at the end of it anyway. You can change everything except the gender and the game even saves your original character automatically before changing anything. As long as you have saves for a male and a female character at this point, you never need to replay the intro unless you really want to. So I finished Lisa - it fucked me up, but also inspired to finally do an unarmed build, the Brad.

No power armor, gaudy weapons or armor, just simple things like brass knuckles and rags with ballistic weave, drugs and alcohol permitted. Advice ?

Ballistic weave will make you tanky as fuck, so if you have to choose between that or modular armor, go for the latter for more challenging gameplay. On the other hand clothes with ballistic weave won't have legendary effects so it might not be a problem if you're tankier than usual if you forfeit having 5 different legendary effects buffing you.

The way "Start Me Up" does the starting conditions is just a combination of the items you have on your person, and the location you start in. Anything past that is you role playing. It's not like there's much (at least before you run into the Institute) that would break your immersion.

Just look at all the mods that are literally just a save file made right before you exit the vault, where you get the last chance to make your changes. Hell, I was looking for a quick start mod (as the save file ones fuck up a bunch of different mods) when I found Start Me Up.
