Say I have two hotbars, which in this example I'll call 1 and 2.

I use some abilities on 1, then I press a button and it switches to hotbar 2, in the same position where 1 was. Then I press a button and it switches back to 1. And on and on.

I'm not sure I understand, but try experimenting with it. You can also try this other one if "change" doesn't work.

For example, if you're a black mage, "/hotbar copy BLM 2 BLM 1"

That will copy the hotbar you have for blackmage 2 and paste it over the hotbar you have for blackmage 1.

Threre's one in every major city, the only problem is that they only give it to higher-ish levels.

On top of that there aren't many to craft in the lower levels either.

Usually, you are supposed to get them in dungeons.

You can always go to the market board and see whats the best accessory you can buy and then just google it to see if you can get it any other way. Sometimes quests drop them too, you can get them easily that way, with free EXP.

No, they're different for each class and raise throughout leveling the class.
The only class where attributes ever carry over are SMN and SCH, which people find as a big problem.

VIT is best for all tanks. If you want to meld materia on your accessories you would use STR instead (because VIT can't be melded on Fending accessories, as VIT is the main stat).

Nope. For every tank, you want to dump into VIT, because that gives you the most damage and health. You actually (almost?) never want to put points into any skills but your main damage one.

Vit on all tanks (DRK, PLD, WAR)
STR on DRG and MNK
DEX on NIN, DRB, and MCH
MND on SCH, AST, and WHM
INT on SMN and BLM

There is no variation for stat allocation, though much much later in the game you might want to look into stat caps and replacement stats for materia melding.

Great, thanks. My main class is gladiator which I have at 30 right now, with all points dumped to VIT. I leveled conjurer to 15 and am leveling marauder right now to carry over some skills to my gladiator, which I plan on making into a paladin.

I embraced this madness back in ARR. PLD is actually really fun, in my opinion. It's not as hectic as DRK and is much more fun to min/max than WAR. The only thing I hate about PLD is Flash, and that I can't carry a party with my sick dps.

Sorry guys, I'm a new white mage and I'm a bit confused at waht I did wrong.

Amdapor Hard, 2nd pull. From the wolves through the tentacles to the next room. I'm level 55 so sync'd down to the thing. My tank was an ilvl 260 warrior, synced.

During the pull, I did divine seal, POM, put up a regen and just started spamming Cure II.

The tank still ended up dying. I couldn't keep him up. I did a benediction right when he was low and once he was back up, kept the Cure II spam going but still couldn't.

Was there something else I should have done? Should I tried to have juggled a Stoneskin in there?

Tell him to pop a fucking heavier CD than Foresight, or tell your dps to stop being shit. Also make sure your weapon is around the same level you are. For additional mitigation use Holy, preferably while in Cleric's Stance, it stuns all mobs for 3 seconds. Also be careful with Cure II spam, you'll run out of mana depending on how long the pull lasts.

Weapon is the same level as me, all my gear is up to date with the latest I can get (augmented ironworks). I know typically not to Cure II spam, it's just they were my heaviest and I couldn't even think of going back to Cure I to try to conserve mana or proc a freecure.

That's where you're wrong, kiddo. If you're on PC, install ACT and you can check if he used any/appropriate CDs. Most people in this game don't know shit about their job. Since you used Regen, and presumably kept it up when not spamming Cure II, you're largely not to blame at all. I'm willing to wager he wasn't using appropriate CDs, or the dps was garbage, or both. I frequently run 50 roulette on tank, and the only reason I die on big pulls is if the healer is garbage, i.e. no regen/spamming Cure III/using a level 49 weapon in a level 50 dungeon, or if the dps are doing sub-300 dps (this happens a lot) and I literally run out of cds before even half the mobs are dead.
