In the legend, Beowulf engaged that dragon with his sword. Because of how immensely strong he was, he broke the weapon on the dragons hide, and had to finish it off with the shit lying around. He had a small amount of help from Wiglaf, the only one who stayed behind with him.

Beowulf is pretty badass. It's a shame that he doesn't have more development with the material. By all rights, his fame and legend should be in the same realm has King Arthur or Herakles. He certainly, by all rights, should be a higher ranking heroic spirit than fags like Achilles.

It's not Fate/Zero's fault that people are retarded in grasping the character. Fate/Zero portrays Arturia understanding the source of Kiritsugu's whole angsty deal even if she barely spoke with him and is empathetic to Irisviel's secluded nature she made her sightsee in Fuyuki despite how dangerous it was and how the war began. She was also observant about how she avoided doing things she liked after Assassin's death.

The whole bullshit of "not understanding people's feelings" at all was Arturia thinking she misread Kiritsugu because she doesn't know why he's destroying the Grail and is born from her self-loathing and self-blame. This with the guilt of Lancelot's pain (which was after the fucking civil war that 'killed' her) kind of emotionally fucked her. It just showed she spiralled down to depression and self-destruction, nothing else. She's not perfect in understanding people, but nobody said she was flawless in the first place. Both Iskandar and Arturia misunderstood each other in the Feasts of Kings, for example, which lead to people completely misunderstanding their characters taking their interpretations of each others as a fact.
