Like, let's be honest, unless they go literally as far as cancelling paid online and issuing a major apology, this thing is going to bite the dust. Hell it'll probably bite the dust even if they pulled off the paid online.

The difference is using a mouse to aim actually feels good.
Motion/Gyro controls are garbage though and not worth using even if it means better performance in-game.

That and the only reason Gyro had an advantage in Splatoon was because the right-stick sensitivity was so fucked up beyond repair. Given real controller and sensitivity options you'd be surprised what the console shooter crowd could do to the poor tweens and casuals running around aiming their gamepad at the TV.

Yep, it's a bummer, but the game is done after the postgame UB story. The Alola Dex is the only thing you can actually finish, since the Battle Tree is endless and the Royal is a laggy mess of pure RNG. By the postgame you probably only have a couple more things left to evolve/catch. Damn shame. I don't think I've ever shelved a Pokemon game so quickly.

Nintendo's handhelds are always manufactured at high rates because they're predictably going to spike in sales with Pokemon, and they can sit on store shelves for some time without Nintendo freaking out. top items like Amiibos and the NES Classic have had artificial shortages, and the Wii had a real one. the Switch is already being marketed splendidly but it's also being released in a very weird format, with that "limited" preorder at the NYC Nintendo store and preorders even at large retailers like Amazon selling out relatively quickly. it's not unreasonable if i know that there are at least three system sellers for me coming out this year (Zelda, Mario, new No More Heroes, and plenty of others that i'll get at release if i have the money and time like Skyrim, Splat2n, etc.), for me to preorder it.

even leaving all of that aside, hardware preorders are just as risky as early adoption in general, and i didn't spend much on vidya over the holidays so i have the money for luxury expenses set aside already. the Switch launches on a Friday and as a productive member of society, I have a job, so it'll be nice to get it on launch day so i can take a sick day for a three day weekend to blast through Zelda instead of having to spend my time off running to every Gamestop and electronics store in town hoping to find one. i respect if you need more time to decide, but i don't.
