1. /tg/ switched to Metastation. It's different. It's good but not Box.
2. We (/vg/) have a vote at the end of every round to pick the new map. Box is the 2Fort / De_Dust of SS13. We almost always play it. But like the link says sometimes we play Metaclub (our variation on Metastation) or Defficiency (our variation on the old Efficiency station). It's good to switch it up now and then but mostly people just wanna play Box.

What exactly is a "unary" vent and what makes it different than a passive one?

Passive Vent: releases any gas that is in the pipes its connected to.

Unary Vent: Automatically connects to atmos alarms. Can be connected to the AAC. Programmable. Stops working when it reaches its checks. Almost all the atmos alarms on station are preset to fill their rooms to 101.3 kPa 80 Nitrogen 20 oxygen.

If you had a passive vent it'll just keep pushing out gas till its empty, even if that level is above 101.3. Since humans don't do so well in high pressure (or low) it's good to use unary for anything normal.

But passive is useful too in engines or waste disposal.

Has anybody tried graphing the equations for toxins? I tried learning Python and writing a program, that would calculate the necessary cold tank temperature and figure out the amounts of moles of every substance for a range of hot tank temperatures, then spew the resulting values into a file. I graphed the file in Origin and it doesn't seem to have any sort of peak, seems to be claiming that the higher the hot tank temperature, the more plasma you will have in total. I know for a fact, that the ideal bomb's tank isn't infinitely hot, so this either points to a fault in my equations or to the fact that the relationship between the amount of moles of fuel and the pressure after combustion isn't as straightforward, as people claimed.
I'm guessing the next logical step is to graph the resulting pressure in case the equations are actually right. There was an anon, who dove really deep into tank fracture code and toxins code in general, who said, that only three or four reaction functions were called, so only a certain fraction of fuel would react. Are you still out there, bombanon? I think I've almost got this figured out!

I think you're the first to at least publically post graphing, but there are a few people who have spreadsheets and such, however I recall them saying they weren't very accurate once you hit 20dev range.
But, if you're getting higher temp=more mols... Something is wrong. Because well, the ideal gas laws.The higher your temp, the higher the pressure for the same number of mols, so when moving gas into your final tanks, you won't fit as many mols in the tanks for their maximum pressure.
As far as combustion code goes, I genuinely just don't understand what happens there so I can't help you, but just know that the best bombs are made at moderately hot plasma and cold oxygen.

The first two equations are Klapeyron-Mendeleev's law for the hot and the cold tank, the third is the law of conservation of energy, the resulting mix's temperature is supposed to be the temperature of combustion or above for the reaction to occur, so in order to have as much fuel, as possible, while still having the gases combust the mix's temperature is assumed to be exactly the temperature of combustion, the last equation describes the necessary amount of oxygen to fully burn the plasma - 2 oxygen moles per mole of plasma.

The bit about the ideal gas law would be true, if the bomb's hot and cold tank had pure plasma and pure oxygen, but that's not the case for the ideal bomb: you get more matter out of your two tanks, if you overpressurize one of them.
