Has there ever been a time in fighting game that a character with blatantly better frame data on paper losses to a character with crappier frame data.
I'm comparing Ryu to Urien and Guile and it seems like there's literally no reason to ever play Ryu according to frame data and the massive amounts of options these 2 gorillas have.

You need to understand your tools.
Learn your anti airs and find out what your best pokes are.
Every button and move has a purpose, gotta figure out what it is.
Not every move is safe so you gotta be aware of that.
Checking out characters gameplans is really useful.
Combos are needed, but the other things I mentioned come first. You can easily pick up some basic punish combos though.

There is damage reduction mechanic that involves pressing buttons during the combo that can negate like up to 30% of the damage. Also vsion takes more damage than most of the cast with afaik only vakiha taking more.

you have to be able to use cr fierce, far st forward, low forward, jump round house, sobat, jump fierce and close standing forward as anti airs depending on spacing and the attack

blanka is evenish or in guiles favor at the highest level but blanka can be hard at lower levels esp if you don't know the matchup and even more so online. dhalsim is legitimately his worst matchup and one of the worst in the entire game. dhalsim standing strong hits guile out of sonic boom and even if he mistimes it he can usually still block the boom.

Yeah damage is pretty high in melty compared to a lot of games. That's still a high damage combo though, also you should note that rarely it will ever do that damage for c-koha because reverse beat gives a damage penalty for a certain amount of time the more you use it, and most c-moon characters have to use it a lot during pressure so their actual damage when they get a hit is lower.

Nah, vsion is pretty middle ground, I think she takes slightly more damage than average but not by much. From mind other than vakiha, ryougi, wara and hime all take more damage.
