So, what makes Grand Order different to every other mobage out there that can keep the player immersed into it? A twitter user made five points:

Lu Bu is just in this weird state where nobody has really bothered to use him. It probably doesn't help that for the most part, he's kind of just a walking reference. He originally appeared in Extra as parallel to Heracles, and he only showed up in Extella because it was a musou. Grand Order was his best shot at actually establishing a personality for himself, but he got fucked over and ended up in Septem.

Prior to GO, literally all we actually knew about him was a gag based on his myth: he had to be summoned as Berserker because otherwise he'd just betray you. Post GO, we have his Bond CE, his gag appearance in the Sanzou event, and some translated lines in his materials. Nothing major that would make people actually care about him.

Yeah that would probably be for the best. Mostly this game really needs something constantly doable that is not piss easy gameplaywise and doesn't get boring fast. With people constantly leveling servants/skills, switching in new CEs and rolling new FotM it would be a good way to do it. And being able to influence what it drops would make it actually worth doing often.

i played another mobage last year along FGO, it was about girls with weapons, forgot it's name, i felt the gameplay was entertaining, it was simple and i could take my time (like FGO) outside from Co-op

yes, fucking co-op could be interesting but ultimately frustrating, and then tthere was the PvP...

some units made a huge difference, you only had to fight an Ai controlled team built by the other person, but some set ups were outright criminal, and if you didn't play constantly all the time you soon would realize that the only people who could get anything out of it anymore was the leading group on top, so i just gave up

mostly cause i couldn't get attached to my units, the only ones i remember clearly were the saberface girl (obviously) and the initially broken mortar loli, who as usual stopped being broken by the time i got one, since a new unit powercreeped her (Valentine's grenade launcher unit i think)

in the end, attachment to the characters and franchise, plus a sense of unity born from hatred (and a long story of dealing with bullshit) keeps us here
