I assume people actually go around checking the plots to see who's logged in and who hasn't. You can see via the list whether a homeowner is online, I would imagine that a really dedicated autist would keep a chart of which houses were likely to be auto-demolished (after a period of observation to see who logs in or not) and would go check on them. Word of mouth is a thing too, if someone says their neighbor hasn't logged on in a month, people who hear that are gonna go check the house.

There's no rent. You do have to set foot in the house once every 45 days or it will get demolished by the game, though.

There's different classes of them, so a lower class small plot will cost less than a higher class one. Price also varies depending on how SE classifies the server, whether it is rich or not. Here's the wiki article that lists them: http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Personal_Housing

If you play on a populated server, be ready to alarm clock that shit like an Eve Online fleet op, you need to be in the housing zone like 2 minutes after servers go live.

Also, one more tip. Check the marketboard to see if people are selling the cottage/house/mansion permits. A small cottage permit costs 450k from the NPC, when I got my plot I bought one for 30k off the marketboard (you can get them from quick ventures).

In the first phase of the fight, when he jumps away at first, turn your camera towards the NE corner of the arena. For the second one right after, turn your camera towards the SW corner. You will see him.

In the last phase, where he appears will be random, so you just need to be quick. It took me a while to be able to spin my camera fast enough to get ahead of divebombs, it's just something you learn with practice.

If you have never played this at all, is it worth getting into? Is it too late?

I am sure there are legions of people who've done the fight on a controller with low camera sensitivity. Remember where to look during the first two. For the last one you're just gonna have to try. You may want to up your sensitivity if you find that helpful, though. Camera-spinning is unfortunately something they seem to like quite a bit.

The people with colossal fortunes either got them selling runs or by being a mega-autist crafter/market manipulator. For the average person, gathering and retainer ventures (not quicks) are probably the best source of steady money. Crafting is much more fun than gathering imo, but if you want to make millions off it you need to make a significant up-front investment of gil and time. If you play on a server with a fast moving market like Balmung or Gilg you can also make money speculating, but that can be risky and also requires start-up capital.

Try starting off with glamour prisms

Everyone's going to tell you to get all crafting to 50 anyway for cross class skills, but this is also where you can start making prisms for each class.

A lot of beast tribes in ARR will sell mats for a lot of prisms I think cloth, smithing, armorcraft, and alchemy can be gotten this way?

For the ones that don't, you can just use ventures to gather since they all require low level stuff anyway

It doesn't make a lot compared to actual crafting, but since you're basically minting gil for no effort it's real easy to get a steady flow of cash while you continue to do other activities such as raids or leveling alternate jobs.

Once you save up enough, you can just buy your Ironworks crafting gear, specialist tools, and start crafting real stuff for more money.

Do you guys think that everyone can make a good ebin with enough time?

Because every time I post a selfie I have to take an hour long break just after. I'm getting lost with the directions all the time, I'm nervous about posting, I do my best using all my skills and reading all the responses and then I actually lose the drive either way.

I just feel really clumsy while shitposting, making the thread super bad, in opposition to those ebins who just post constantly like it's nothing and keep a conversation without a single stutter.

Is that just a matter of experience? Or are some players just not cut out to be the ebins? Because I can shitpost the /v/ content easily and happily, running through all my skills and maximizing the damage output. But I struggle with the /xivg/ level content, feeling like a shitter. With both ebin and anonymous.
