About to hack my 3DS and just asking some stupid questions for peace of mind:

How important is the read speed of an SD card for load times/ boot times for the regular 3ds? ie should I get a 64GB card @ 30MB/s or a 32GB card @ 60MB/s. Both are class 10 I believe.
Does this shit have a noticeable affect on 3ds load times or is it pointless?

Barely important at all. The 3DS (even the New 3DS) caps at about 1-2MB/s

What does matter a tiny bit is the overall size of the card. The larger you go, the slower icons will load on your home menu. Beyond that, nothing is affected.

128 GB+ tends to get dicky, and you may need to fill it up beforehand to read properly.
Otherwise, if you're 64 GB+, you need to format it with a 3rd party program to FAT32.

Gonna update my N3DS to 64GB of memory now that it's all freeshop'd up, what brands are good?

Options I can find are either Samsung EVO for $38 shipped, Sandisk Ultra for $41 shipped or Lexar for $50 bought locally, all class UHS-1.

The 3DS does not auto update. You can connect online whenever, but yes you need to be online for the guide. The guide has you update to latest system version after a9lh + luma is installed.

You can just hack it now and copy everything to your new card anyways.

So I got CFW running and it was easy like everyone said it was.

Now I went to install FreeShop from their website to get have the ability to install free games.

Now, in my opinion, the websites instruction are not clear at all. For starters it has four files that I am not sure it wants me to install or not:

>FBI for an installer
>ftpd for transfering files to the SD card
>Decrypt9 for dumping and encrypting title keys.

Now I know I need FBI, but am not sure how to install that, and if the other files are necessary to run Freeshop.

and you need to be on the latest nightly/hourly build of Luma

First try rebooting and launching it again. The AM installation state can get messed up.

If that doesn't work, there could be some corrupted temp files for some reason. Or something else unknown. You can delete the sdmc:/3ds/data/freeShop directory to clear out everything and start fresh. That's a guaranteed way to fix it.

If yes, you can turn off your system and move the files. The guide assumes you've never installed homebrew, so it has you boot in and make sure it's working. For most people following the guide, they won't have soundhax installed yet.

I downloaded the arm11.bin with no problems, but now that I'm on 9.2 I can't no longer access my home's WiFi. It's giving me an error 301-2001.
I checked the troubleshooting part of the guide but it didn't mention anything, checked Google and tried it all but to no avail.

Honestly I've been playing it and I can't really tell when it's on or off. I tried playing for an hour with it enabled and then another hour without it and couldn't tell the difference. The game still stutters a lot with amphetamin. It does make the fps smoother if you stop and look around but actually playing there isn't much of a difference, sadly. The game is still playable though if you can resist the vomit inducing seizures sanctuary city gives.
