Any race and any class can wield any type of weapon, so you just slot your skill points accordingly. Just know that it's generally the best to pick one stat for your role (Magicka, Stamina, or Health) and stick with it. While you can easily make a stamina based Sorcerer, you don't want a 50/50 spread between Stam and Magic because then you're just bad at both.
Race also doesn't really matter unless you're min/maxing.

What's MagDK like? I thought I read somewhere they're mor melee-oriented, but can I keep playing them at range with two destro staves? I want to play a fire/dragon wizard.

Because it's a trailer and they already had made the elf the magic archetype (note how all three characters fall into the classic archetype of Warrior/Mage/Thief).

Sorta. It's good in PvP for ganking, it's useful for applying DoTs in PvE but after you put up your two DoTs you swap back to melee weapons.

Depending on your bars it can boost FoO, which tends to pull in quite a bit of dps. Less useful for burning embers/searing strike but it still helps.

I do play altmer though, so magicka issues are a little less pronounced

I hear that bows do less damage because they're ranged, and if they did the same here would be no point in using swords, which is fair. But I also hear that a lot of pvp is skill based. You'd need to boost your characters speed though through such things as the medium armor passives, Munda's stone etc. I dueled a guy once and his character was meme speed fast and I only had melee attacks. I was never able to catch him and do any damage before he was able to make me with bow and class skills

I asked in a previous thread regarding max level and armor.

I am pretty autistic and want to have the highest/best stats as soon as possible, so that I don't craft something just to have it be obsolete in a few levels.

What is the best way to grind levels? Dungeon runs and Dolmen farming?
I was farming the Dolmen in Fen Hag or whatever it's called, near the werewolf boss. Any better places?

With the crafting and obsolete in a few levels thing - you should consider crafting to be more a temporary boost in power that only lasts a few levels, then needs to be redone, rather than be bothered by it being obsolete. The faster it becomes obsolete, the better it's doing its job. Fastest level grind is probably aoe farming something that respawns reasonably quickly with not many other people there doing the same thing. Like if you see a spot where you can pull a few packs of 3-4 mobs, kill them all, then do the same in an area nearby while waiting for the first spot to respawn, that would be ideal. Public dungeons are good for this, but I frequently see people doing it on the overland too.

You get random mats from crafting writ rewards which include lower level mats, and you can trade/buy them from other players, or create an alt and farm the mats at their level.

Which mats you see in the wild depend on your character's level and how many points you have in the first passive of each of the equipment crafting skill lines. So if you put a point in Metalworking you'll start seeing some High Iron Ore as well as Iron Ore, and when you reach level 16 you would see only High Iron Ore.

I do a lot of crafting for friends that don't collect their own mats so I definitely keep low level ones around, and if you're subscribed to ESO plus you might as well since they take up no space in the Crafting Bag. You might also want to keep them if you play a lot of alt characters so you can craft them lower level armour with your main character.

I love elder scrolls, and I loved every elder scrolls game, and I've been playing eso but I hate that everything boils down to "go here, kill X Y times, and collect Z". It's obviously because it's an mmo and that's mmo gameplay, but I miss the quests of morrowind/skyrimoblivion/etc.

Should I get a subscription for this game?

I generally have this policy of "I've paid for this game and I'm not going to pay anymore for it" sort of thing, since I did buy a copy of the game and expected all the content when I did, but I was clearly wrong. I tend to pay for subscriptions for F2P games, i.e SWTOR, WoT, WoWS and what have you, but when it comes to TESO, I'm conflicted.

I paid like £12 for the Imperial edition a while back and have never bought a sub, but I feel like doing some of the DLC's now. Adding an extra 8 onto the 12 every month seems a bit much and the annual cost would be 92. Doesn't this literally bother any of you? Having to pay almost double the price of the standalone game just for a subscription, even though you've already bought the game?

And as far as daedra go that's pretty much fucking right 9/10 times. Even the "good" daedra are as wont to fuck you over as help you (see: that one priest of azura in Morrowind who Azura told to live in a hut as a bet against sheogorath. Not some grand quest or anything, just a fucking bet.)

The Aedra aren't much better because they can't really do much due to their nature. They won't fuck you like the daedra will but worshiping them doesn't really bestow you any benefit either.

So, having a look at the patchnotes in the OP shows no major nerfs to anything except maybe DK self heals, but even then flame lash is getting a buff.

Hurricane is getting a nerf, but is that it for stamsorcs aside from viper nerf? Magsorc Pets are looking a little more viable now that velocious curse isn't clearly the best though, should be alright.

is the maelstrom weapon enchantment better than a crafted legendary increase weapon enchantment? if i recall correctly, the maelstrom enchant is add 189 weapon/spell damage and a crafted enchantment is like 360 something weapon/spell damage. the thing is though that maelstrom enchant is constant, while a crafted one has to be constantly procced to receive the benefit. i always see builds saying to use maelstrom weapons but the weapon/spell damage is significantly lower than a crafted enchantment

Decided to start playing the game again and I've recently leveled a Templar and want to play healer. I've tried Deltias build but it doesn't seem to work for me, I find there is a lack of direct healing and too much reliance on dots. Which isn't good if the tank is bad. I hadn't played dungeons in like 16 months and I decided to give a couple a try again last night. Well, I don't know whether to feel really good about getting stupid amount of xp a run and all this loot for not even 10 minutes of gametime per run or get kind of sad that this utterly destroys my subtle joy of the slow gear crafting and leveling process.
