Alliance trashman is not the most glamorous of jobs, but it's a super low SP job that pays pretty well if you can keep up with the ratters. If there's a system (Like calling out sites that are being done) you can bookmark the sites and warp to them when they pop.

Also about mining, There should be nothing stopping you from mining in a Venture, other than the occasional rats that pop up. If a rat spawns, just move to the next belt and continue to cherrypick ore. It's not fast, but snagging ABC is perfectly fine.

There's always the exploration memes, and if you are on the lookout for HS travel paths (Especially freighter holes!) people will happily reward with bounties for finding them.

Stupid blog story aside, remaining cans had steadily increasing value of several mil per can: 2m, 5m, even 7m in one.
Ended up gathering 37.1m, total running time: 2 hours (including ~40 jumps, clone switch at a citadel, dropping off and selling the loot)

Pretty good, guess I was lucky?
Definitely need better hacking skills tho, ended up failing about 40% of cans.
Which is better than 60% failure rate I had before, but still not good enough.

Considering I find can opening more difficult/time consuming than scanning I'll go with hacking.
Covert ops is only really appealing for the extra 5 virus strength, since scanning bonuses come only at IV and V levels, and training that is bound to take ages.

I'm doing all that, this is where I learnt from
90% of cans I failed weren't possible to hack with my character skills.
It's not like I can do anything when I get all paths blocked with antiviruses (which a 25/80 virus can't handle), get 2 suppressors in a row (10 virus strength, come on) or just a spam of restoration nodes, nuking of which weakens me so hard that afterwards I can't even handle the core.
Utility items are great sure, but the fail-runs are the ones where you get cockblocked before getting to any.

Explain how would you deal with situations I described before, and yes I'm aware and utilize everything you mentioned.

It usually goes like this:
1. follow a trail towards where the numbers lead me, and while searching the nodes adjacent to the number 1 I uncover a defensive node blocking whatever 1-off I was. Forced to go for another trail, and either the situation repeats, or the core ends up being under one of those blocked. At that point the only thing left to do is taking a gamble for under which of those lies the core (usually only get one shot before running out of coherence)
2. try to get to nodes surrounded by six others, and on the way stumble upon a defensive node. Try another route and get blocked off again and again, with numbers ranging between 4-6 along the way and zero utilities.
That coupled with the fact that 1 antivirus or 2 of any other nodes *will* defeat me, makes it really troublesome.
Utilities are sparse as fuck (minigames where this isn't the case are a breeze), and whenever I'm out of options and try popping up caches for a lifesaver all I get is restoration nodes.

Sure, I'm most certainly not good at the minigame yet, but those unsolvables are extremely frustrating, and have a ~30% chance of happening.

There are cans that are completely unhackable without Hacking/Archeology V, sure. It's all up to luck, if you get shitty RNG with no pickups and roadblocks out the ass then there is nothing you can do.

There's only one way to get more virus strength and that's with the T2 hacking module. It helps a lot because it causes certain breakpoints with red cans, eg. firewalls die in 2 hits (only causing 20 damage to you), inhibitors only reduce your damage to 25 instead of 15, healslut nodes also die in 2 hits. Other than that statistical upgrades are fairly minimal, the little bit of extra HP you gain from training the skill to 4 is helpful but most of the time doesn't do much.

You certainly get a number where using the standard strategies fails you but deviating would give you a chance.

I find I very rarely fail easy and medium cans, probably less than 9% of the time, but on hard cans at least 30% of the hack are unsolvable, 50% are a toss up between success and failiure and a few you just get lucky.

Pyfa is a bit crap though. It keeps randomly crashing when eg. deleting fits, and the ship list is clunky as hell, and it doesn't show how long you can overheat modules for, and showing DPS with reloads requires you to check a box in the options after which you can no longer see your regular DPS anywhere, and the UI refuses to remember if you change the width of columns, and the root installation directory has a bazillion files in it so you have to scroll down a lot to find pyfa.exe.

It has some useful features too though such as easier module comparison so it's not all bad.

Maybe if you don't fit a single tank module to your Procurer. Mine has 70k EHP. Concord response time in a 0.6, according to the Eve Uni wiki, is about 14 seconds, but let's bump that up to 20 just to give your argument a fighting chance. The most you can generally expect out of a gank Cata is around 700 DPS, but let's call it 800 to, again, skew the numbers in your favor. 20*800 is 16k damage per Cata, and 16k*4 is only 64k. Even with numbers skewed unrealistically in your argument's favor it still doesn't hit the required amount of damage.

Often the most people you can group from that sort of thing is around 6, so an extra 1200dps between them is not bad.

My reflex responce is "miner, calm down", but in honesty you just have to understand that for the few people who are not total shitters, 40 mil is not a lot of money (even though an Eris on corp contract doesn't cost that), and James will recomp all lost catalyst and eris fits.

CODE is a massive operation to destabalise highsec, and people invest a lot of isk in it, I have personally invested upwards of 200 mil, not at all including my personal costs in ganking the amount I do/did.
It is just feel James needs to take the rains and lead us into Nullsec next, as Highsec is becoming less of the problem, and Nullminers are just being even more rewarded for afk gameplay because of our highsec efforts.
