The number of RC depends on the exp the pawn "gets" and many ddg high level players hired it during some BBI runs, so it "got" tons of exp, VAW is basically this general mascot.

I'm a first-time player too, and my experience is that once you enter BBI, you gain so many levels just from trying not to die and from doing runs to collect upgrade materials. You also find better and better weapons everywhere and can easily dragonforge them with Cursed Dragons, which powers you up much faster than adjusting stats by grinding professions would.

Then again, I played as an Assassin all the time which is a very minmaxed vocation, so my base attack and stamina were already pretty high.

Alas, I have already been spoiled; when I reach the Seneschal in NG+ it's going to be myself, right?

This makes sense, I suppose. By killing myself with the Godsbane, I express that I am no longer driven by much a will to live, hence the need for a new Seneschal to replace me.

If what Selene's mistress said is true however, and Pawns do not gain souls of their own but their old master's soul manifests in them, doesn't that mean that even getting killed by the new Arisen won't release the Seneschal? Then what of the previous Seneschal who begged for release?

Does the Seneschal hold dominion over all the worlds of the Eternal Ring, or just a particular one?
If the latter: if you kys, does that world end and your pawn falls into one of the parallel worlds contained within the Eternal Ring, so you gradually eliminate them one by one?
If the Seneschal rules the multiverse, and he khs, how does the cycle continue?

I might misremember Sofiah mentioning “souls”, maybe it was just “will” or “spirit”.
Could be that there are no souls, only the Will to Power—then you wouldn't be transferring anything from you to your pawn, you would just inspire them and guide them to develop a Will of their own. Your own existence would then end the moment you let yourself be slain by an Arisen, and thus your will extinguishes and you become nothing.

The Will that drives Arisens is probably the player.
In the process of the Bestowal of Spirit, what happens to your Pawn, aside from them coming to look like you? They become the player character, you take control of them. What happens to the Arisen who becomes the new Seneschal? They become an NPC.

If you're talking about his first form: slow him down with Torpor, jump on his face, and repeatedly hit it with the best weapon you have (if you have Thousand Kisses or Dire Gouge, all the better). Bring mushrooms and just cling to him and keep hitting him until he dies.
He does have one or two attacks that will throw you off and probably kill you, but he doesn't use them very often.

The same tactic works on the second form too, except he can't be slowed, and he will frequently one-shot you with flame bursts and lightning bolts. Bring wakestones.

I'm using the alternate exp table mod (Plateau plot). Basically, when the pawn gets hired the level up thresholds gets lower than the modded thresholds that I'm using, the excess exp give the pawn the corresponding extra levels.
The extra levels are few (in this case only 2) because each level starts off at zero xp rather than keeping a total of all xp earned.

Cursed Dragon. It has very high chances of dragonforging your equipment, even unupgraded, and you can spawn one in the Duskmoon Tower of BBI by putting out Rancit Bait Meat. It's guaranteed to spawn one, and if you leave and re-enter the area after defeating it, you can fight as second one right away.

The great thing is that you can fight these Cursed Dragons in the second area you enter. It's just two doors and a short run from Olra.
However, you'll need Rancid Bait Meat, which I think Barroch doesn't sell until a bit later.

I'm pretty certain now that the Will to Live that Seneschal talks about is you, the player.
In addition to >>165197813 consider the following:

S a v a n tells you that being in office slowly drains the Seneschal of his Will to Live (thereby necessitating new Arisens to step up to the task).
What happens when you reach that point in the game? You, the player, grow bored, because there's nothing left to do—and so your character loses his Will to Live.

S a v a n also tells you that it is adversity and challenge that bring forth volition; hence the Great Dragons to create that kind of challenge.
In the final post-game, there are no challenges left for you. You've done everything, so you lose your will to play, and the new Seneschal grows weary in kind. Thus, to perpetuate the cycle and to give birth to new volition, you reset the world—you start New Game+ so you have goals and enemies again and keep playing the game.

Regardless of whether you're online or offline, the character you meet is an Arisen who had the will and determination to beat the game and become the new Seneschal.
However, by the time you reach them, they're just an NPC—their will has departed from them, because their IRL player either stopped playing, or moved on to NG+ because they grew bored of post-post-game.

There's no PVP in The Great Hereafter with people invading your world à la Dark Souls because, while you are there, you have enough volition left to keep NG going, so there's no need for a replacement yet.

They never explain how the multiverse works exactly, granted. Could be that each new NG+ takes place in a different parallel universe, hence why it's a different Seneschal every time when you're online. Your pawn would thus another universe of the Endless Ring every NG+—unless you're offline, then it's all self-contained.

When the game ends, your pawn is on the beach with whoever has the highest affinity or whatever. Then NG+ happens, and the game starts anew. However, even though items and affinities and even shops carry over, no one remembers anything (with the exception of Selene having a hint of a shadow of a memory, which may or may not be due to the fact that she's was pawn who's seemingly still immortal). So either it does take place in a parallel universe (which I have issues with because why would affinities and items carry over?), or it's the same universe, but everything got reset at the end of the game (which I have several issues with: why does no one remember what happened? Was it the new seneschal who did it, and if so, why would he do that? Seems like a dick move to wipe everyone's memory for no reason. Why does your pawn still have all that knowledge/stat growth from the last cycle if it's technically a brand new pawn? And if THAT was the Seneschal, too, what's up with him being a huge dick in one regard but a total bro in another? And why would he even need to test you with the dragon? The new Seneschal needs a new world that can bring forth a will great enough to succeed him. By resetting everything, you can fight all the enemies and take all the missions again, thus forming that will.
Theoretically, this NG+ or new set of challenges could be a wholly new story taking place after the main game, or even in a different land. You can't expect Capcom to go that far, though. Maybe this is what DD2 is about, and then it loops back to DD1 at the end.

Not to start a discussion about MSG2, but that game was explicit about its themes, and it was also beyond explicit even about how the gameplay and the whole game experince was an excuse to put the player inside its thematics.
It doesn't matter your opinion about its quality or if you understood its themes, it's a fact that was the intention of the devs because the game couldn't get more explicit about that in its final part.

What we have here is mostly speculations, which, as you said it becomes too far-fetched when you try to take into account some things.

To add to that: in The Great Hereafter, you can actually walk the streets of Gran Soren and Cassardis as a ghost, which is the kind of continuation you're asking for. That's boring though, and drains your will to play; but you lord over life and death so spawning random enemies would be pretty pointless.
Thus, the Seneschal creates a new world so a new Arisen can have all that fun again, imbued by your will.

The story of Bitterblack Isle backs up my theory too. From a gameplay perspective, it's the hardest area of the game with the strongest enemies who are all trying to kill you, and usually do a good job at that. In-universe, it's literally a death trap for Arisens—exactly the same thing.

Ashe/Daimon knows of the cycle, and wants to end it by luring in any Arisen to BBI and getting them killed there so they can't finish their main quest.
Ashe rages at this unjust system that traps everyone in a meaningless circular existence. He'd agree with your sentiment:

Daimon 2nd form mocks you for being a “slave to a broken order”. In-universe they want to kill every Arisen, on a meta level they want to make you give up on playing the game because it's too hard.

Your Pawn in NG+ isn't the only one of its sort, see Selene and the Fool. The Dragon is still needed to see if they, or anyone else, possesses the will (your control) to make it to the end.

Here she is from her assassin days.
She's supposed to be a little muscular but something weird happens with the first tick of muscle ingame compared to in the character editor. You can see the abs there but it becomes very faint ingame.
