A Rune player evolving for no reason means he has Piercing Rune, etc.

It fairly reliably beats Control Blood (can still lose), but I wouldn't even say it is favored in the Daria matchup. You just have to get really lucky and have all three revelations AND have the opponent be stupid enough to keep you in vengeance and constantly empty their hand.

Every Daria I lose to as Control Blood was smart and knew the matchup. They bait you into using removal and never overextend. The difference between Daria and Aggro Blood is that Daria is never not strong. Aggro Blood can fizzle out, but you're never safe from Daria suddenly having a huge board or piercing rune destroying all your followers.

I often found my followers were a liability in the matchup. Queen Vampire is terrible against Daria and Sword because it enables so many of their cards.

Honestly I think it's the same for Aggro Blood too and a lot of aggro decks.

If they play the matchup smart then you're screwed. Control Blood runs A LOT of cards that directly impact/related to followers and nothing more

There might be others, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Anyway, these cards just end up sitting in your hand in a lot of matchups. Cards like Dire Bond can lose you the game if you play it and is often a dead draw later on too.

I find the opponents will usually play around vengeance and then go for the finisher all at once. Either that, or they will start doing a lot of unavoidable damage.

>Aggro Blood stops playing followers and just focuses on burn spells and removal like Dance of Death
>Sword just focuses on storm
>Daria starts cycling and only slowly adding followers to the board so as to bait your cards

In a lot of these situations you're at a big disadvantage and are just holding a bunch of cards that don't do anything. Revelation is often worthless against Aggro Blood, and against Daria it will often not get much value if they are playing smart.

Ehh not quite. If you play it like Face you will lose. If you play it like Ramp you will also lose. Basically it's a deck that can be played a few ways, and it will depend on who you're facing. The mulligans will be completely different for each matchup. If you're against an aggro deck or something with early pressure, you'll want to roll for your cheap followers and threats that the opponent cannot ignore. Think Fire Lizard, Mushus and Unicas. You'll try and set tempo, trading whenever you can, using evolves liberally and hitting face only if their board is clear. Hold out long enough to get Forte and Small Forte and then hit face with huge Storm followers. In such matchups you do not want to use any of your ramp cards if possible, as they will lose you the game.

In matchups like Haven and some Rune, it's the exact opposite. If they have a lot of removal but fewer creatures, I usually mulligan exculsively for Dragon Oracles and Emissaries. Aiela is the only creature I would play, whereas in the other matchup I'd be using the 3 mana for Imprisoned. Ramp up as fast as possible and use your Fortes to destroy them.

Of course no hand is perfect and you might get fucked on draws. In the end you might end up playing hybrid, and then it comes down to your experience. Knowing when to play a ramp or tutor card, vs a follower card will win or lose you the game.

Oracles and Aiela's are your source of cheap Ramp/Card draw. Same with Ivory although if you pull an Ivory in your opening hand against a bats or elf matchup, keep that shit, it's presence is way more valuable on the board then as card draw. Like I said if you play this like Face and just drop shit on curve, you will absolutely lose every time. The deck is more nuanced than that and requires waiting till the right moment to play the card. That's pretty similar to my list, except I use Unicas instead of Gelt, and x2 Otohime in favor of the third Albert. Pompous is fine, she makes sure you have a smaller chance of topdecking a one drop later on and since less people are running barrage she can stick around pretty often now. If you want to go mid-range she's pretty good.

What minion are you supposed to play into T2 yurius other than your own yurius or a vampy? Because there are only 6 combined copies of those in the deck, you don't always have the chance to play them instead of clawing. Summon Bloodkin eats major shit played into a yurius, Blood Wolf eats even worse shit, I have a hard time seeing how either of those are better on T2 than claw would be, especially when they can either be saved for T4 two-drop two-drop, or successfully contest player 1's three-drops if you lack a three-drop of your own
If you went second and player 1 is using their turn 3 to claw your yurius, it certainly is the case that they're doing something terribly wrong but I have a hard time believing people are that crazy

For instance, a lot of people's first instinct is to play Dragon oracle immediately. More orbs is better right? That's not always the right call though. Say you have a hand of Aiela, Oracle and a Mushu. On your second turn, if you're vs an aggro deck, I'd play the Mushu on turn 2 and then the Aiela on turn 3. Then when Turn 4 comes around I'd play the Oracle plus another 2 drop if I had it. Because in this matchup, if I play the Oracle on turn 2, I'd still most likely play Aiela on Turn 3, leaving me with a dead orb. AIela is great because you want to trade her.

Consequently if I have the same hand vs say a Rune deck, I'd probably play the Oracle on Turn 2 and then the Aiela on Turn 3. This is because if I play the Mushu on Turn 2, there's a high likelihood it will get bounced or burned anyways.

You're also ramping up to Small Forte and Small Sieg. Saying there's nothing else to ramp up to isn't quite right. Also since this deck is relatively low cost, it allows you to make control style plays once you have more orbs, instead of burning them all on large creatures. For instance at 10 mana, you can play an enhanced Small Forte or Sieg plus something else. Sometimes I'll drop an Imprisoned Dragon, which will often times ruin whatever big plan the other guy had. That same Imprisoned Dragon I might have been holding onto since turn 3, but maybe I kept it until now, ate a bit of face.

Salamander is pretty necessary for board clear and early control. It shines when you're vs a Tempo Rune matchup as they have a lot of 2/2s. If you've really got nothing, I'd put in some Blazing Breaths and Angelic Barrages, depending on how many Bats and Elves you're running into.

Masamune is a bit easier, someone asked this question last night. The thing about Masamune is he's Sieg on a stick, he will remove Wards and fatties and oftentimes stick around being a big 5 damage without an evolve. Plus you can play him as a 2/2 for 2 in those early aggro matchups. If you're facing more wards and big creatures, go for Wild Hunt, it's a great card, but doesn't have the staying power of a body. If you're facing more early aggression, get some more 2 drops for that. But really Masamune is great he can be early aggro/trade, ward removal and even finisher.

I've playtested this a bit and most of the time it's waiting for the animations on the other end to finish before passing the turn over.
If you notice that it's one-sided, as in his turns end instantly, but yours take a while to pass over, it means that he has a crappy phone that hangs sometimes.

I'll say also that the thing about those two cards if that they are both Enhance cards and that's where their value shines. It's two cards for the price of one. If you keep Salamander always for the board clear, you're doing it wrong. Sometimes, 3 follower damage early on is better than the AOE later. Same with Masamune, you've got 3 of him in the deck as well as 3 Siegs, so if creatures are hitting your face, don't be afraid to play one and trade. That's where the real value comes in, having options. In that sense, it plays a bit like control in some matchups.
