Survivalist damage a shit, I tried many many times to get them to work and they are mediocre as fuck, the odds and numbers are just stacked against them to the point of fucking retardation.

Their first bowshot ability, I forget its name, does the same damage as multishot, and has higher accuracy. There is no fucking reason to take multishot.

Giving them an ATK up grimoire helps so little, and Sagittarius Shot rarely stuns and its damage is also shit.

When I did that fight on expert I had to grind and put a bunch into fire slash and link ability II.

Then I dropped it at the next stratum boss since I didn't want to reclass the base party in story mode, my Flavio and Chloe were useless, and I probably would have hit the level cap before the final boss if having to grind for the bosses like that continued. Game was balanced around the use of a Protector, Immunize glitch can either get around that or trivialize things by stacking it with Defender or some other defensive buffs. Survivialists were great for both damage and utility as bows were powerful and they got all the useful field skills.

Defense is now useless but ailments and binds have gotten ridiculous, especially with force skills that hit with guaranteed ones. Ronin spams Midareba, Hexer's Revenge damage output is insane. The usage of other classes is completely optional.

As far as defensive options go, you have dodgetanking Hoplites, elemental negation/reflection and accessory stacking to reduce damage of a specific type to a minimum, but actual armor is still crap. Summons were an interesting addition, but a full party had difficulty making good use of them, limiting Ninja options and making Yggdroids and Wildlings easy to dismiss options.

I felt you could pull of some pretty cool stuff in III

I had a party based around 5-Ring Sword, worked for everything except when I had to stuff my party with NPCs and also Abyssal God

I have a 3 Shogun party I'm workin gon though that can potentially 1 shot rag emode if luck is on my side

The only thing that's slow to me in III is post game grinding but I suck at Pasaran

etrian odyssey needs more meaningful character building desu.
