It has a somewhat poor matchup with Daria because she can shit out minions that make Otohime blush, which makes Will of the Forest somewhat impotent if you don't get really aggressive with clearing early. You can also randomly lose to well-timed Bahamut drops if facing ramp or take your time. It's too low Tempo to play in the midgame and you're better off saving Evolve points for Goblin Mount and Dragon Warrior in the midgame or Fortes and Genesis Dragon to end the game. The burn is actually the main advantage Bats have yeah. Aggro Shadow's advantage is that it can actually afford to trade vs bats due to having more resilient creatures. Moreover Aggro Shadow ideally just wants to get you at 11 HP or below because their goal is to just kill you off on turn 6 with a Howl combo. It doesn't need to race you to 0, just get you to that kill threshold.
