I was joking on the mistake part, but when Temmie drew the intro scene for the first time, both Toby and Temmie thought it depicts the player character. Except Temmie had drew one stripe on the sweater by accident instead of two. After Toby decided to add the twist, however, it worked out to his advantage.

It's a shame the fandom had to ruin it.
