What is your favorite strike, /dg/?

So how do grenades work in Airborne? Does it get the boost when I throw while jumping, or when it does the actual damage and I just have to keep hovering for the duration?

As a void warlock using Ophidian aspect that doesn't use shotguns (Mainly use fusion rifles I admit and Palindrome/scout/pulse), what would be the optimal perks to use in the Void tree? Also yes, I know I'm gimping myself by not using shotguns at all.

I've been going with Armor and agility but perhaps it would be more beneficial to go raw armour? Also a bit uncertain whether I should go Vortex or Shatter, what melee perk to choose and whether to go ETV, Bloom or Vortex Mastery.

Fuck agility on warlocks, you won't be jumping around like a faggot anyways, especially with a fusion. Run max Armor and Recovery.
I usually use Lance or shatter, but that's preference honestly. Shatter is the most foolproof option.
Use Lifesteal on your melee, and for the last column use bloom for PvE and that thing that starts life regen on grenade or super kills in PvP.
And in case you didn't know, only use Scatters with nothing manacles, if you can aim those you'll get kills out the ass. Otherwise run Axions, either the enemy has to run and you shoot him in the back, or he decides to engage with his shield almost gone.

Thanks, I'll try that. I admit I never liked using shotguns, there's just no satisfaction to use them for me. It's just... Rush and slide or jump and onepop them from afar with matador.

It works of course and I don't blame people for doing it, though I do hate those that only use shotguns and never use primaries; still, I can hardly fault people for using what's currently considered the best. Luckily enough, fusion rifles, especially Telesto, are good at fucking shotgun rushers over at least.

Shotguns can be incredibly satisfying, especially against bad players. Nothing like winning a 3v1 by straight out murdering one guy, confusing the second and shooting him in the back and pulling a bait&switch on the last one.

Remember that part where i said "fuck the meta"? I'll take it back, that trading machine is garbage. I admit it's fun, but if you want to be competitive with fusions you should maybe try Plan C at least. Non exotic options are the pre-RoI FWC and DO vendor fusions if you've got those, right now Saladman's Vigil, 77 Wizard, Panta Rhei are solid.

Nah, Telesto isn't supposed to be used for trading but rather for setting up or for a surprise engagement before jumping away. I use other fusion rifles as well but Telesto isn't meant to be used like a normal fusion rifle; gotta abuse the fact that you can shoot it on the ground or walls for example just as they come for you or jump towards you.

Also works wonder on revives too since the majority of the damage comes from the detonation which generally happens after the revive buff is gone. Gotten a few double kills that way.

Honestly, I feel like most that have trials gear are just baddies that win due to side weapons; I've met way too many that solely use their side weapons and then are complete garbage without them. If they don't get to use their snipers or shotguns, they are horseshit that can't aim for shit.

Partly why I look forward to the upcoming Shotgun nerfs, not that I think Shotguns are OP except for perhaps range with Matador/PC+1 but the huge amount of salty tears that'll create will be enjoyable. I predict a large amount of people will stop being able to reach lighthouse the moment you make shotguns and snipers shit so they instead have to rely on other weapons.

Though they honestly should buff primaries rather than nerf side weapons; though I would also welcome an increase in spawn timer for side weapon ammo box in trials.

Is firefly and explosive rounds still bugged? I was testing this out in the cosmodrome but the firefly/outlaw combo only ssemed to work 60% of the time

Explosive rounds take some of the damage your bullet would have done and apply it to the chest.
If you kill someone, if you kill them with the (40) damage you do to the head, it procs. If you kill them with the (21) damage it does to the chest, it doesn't proc.

No. that proves that it is not a bug. No matter where you hit on the body, ER always do 21 damage. If you get a body shot, that does 20. If you hit a headshot, that does 40.
If you crit with a headshot, it doesn't crit ER because then ER would ALWAYS be the best perk because instead of being 20-21 for 41, it would be 40-42 for 82. ER can not and should not ever crit. Since no matter where you hit, that ER damage is put into the chest for bodyshot damage, you cannot get a crit kill if you kill with the back end of damage of your bullet, be it the last 21 of the 41 damage for a bodyshot or the last 21 of 61 for a headshot.

Breakers and solar nades do pretty good mob control. Song of flame and radiance make it vastly more OP than most realize. Having Song going almost all the time thanks to juju is just ontop of all that plus catapult is just obscene.

desu I wish sunsingers had more support options. I love being a support in games and I picked Warlock as my main so now I'm stuck with a class with support that you need your teammates to actively use, which isn't what happens with randos. Hell, just give Song of Flame/Memory of Skorri a lot more range than it has, you practically have to stay on top of another to get the boost.

Yeah, but I have to do the RoI questline on one and literally the entire game on the titan, I have to get the armor/infusables for weapons, level up the classes on Titan, etc.

This would be really easy on my Hunter, but my brother uses it now and then and told me to not use it until he does RoI story missions, which he'll probably do in like 2 weeks.

Also, honestly it feels really clunky having to either switch weapons every time I want to play another class or having better guns on one character than the other.

Personally I just don't enjoy Aksis. I don't think I've ever wiped all that much on any part of it so it'd hardly be PTSD, Aksis is soundly designed, and is clearly not even close to as buggy as the other two raids but there is something about it, even though you're always in motion and doing something else it still just feeels so sterile and monotonous, I absolutely hate it. I honestly think if Y3 moments checklist asks for Aksis CM it'll be the first time I don't finish moments because I just don't want to do it, its not that I can't find people, its not that I don't have the time, its not even difficult, its just that I straight up do not want to do a single Aksis encounter ever again, the very thought of going back into Aksis makes me not even want to boot up the game. I still haven't gotten either of the two raid shaders because of it, I literally need only 4 more boss kills to finish the RoI book, I have given up on both because I don't like the feeling of total disinterest I feel the second I even contemplate going into that encounter, and its so fucking bizzare I've literally never felt this sensation before in my life, of not wanting to do something that I actually enjoyed experiencing while I participated in it, I don't even know how to describe it other then lethargy even if the term isn't entirely appropriate its the one that keeps coming to mind.

Depends on what you're doing. Armamentarium and the Garrison are ridiculously useful and fun. Haven't tried the Dunemarchers but I hear it's fun too.

Stuff like Saint-14's helm and Peregrine Greaves are useful in PvE, depending on modifiers/what you're doing.

Crucible only fag here, haven't really touched the story, still at the moon missions, but I finished iron banner today after getting a Monte Carlo from Xür, I got a question for you raiders, what's the best place to get some 350+ light armor? because most vendors only have up to 350 light and I gotta use legendary marks up the ass to buy those, shaxx had given me air force 1s 4 times now from ranking up and future war rewards are sparse too.

Also how good are shotguns in PvE? any void/sun recommendations for raiding?

I currently just shit out fusion grenades every 25 seconds for easy kills, or axions.

And, you need to do Heroic Strikes. It will get you up to 385 really easily. And if you do the Vangaurd bounties, you can get like 600 rep a day. Which is fair amount, considering that you get like a 100 or so per strike.

In my experience, Shotguns are only sometimes good. A Sniper is really useful for damaging bosses and Fusion rifles are good at melting through multiple adds.
