Is this the best rainbow ikuzo team if you don't have kizaru? Tashigi is not that great if you have zero orb control, with this team bottom row+Zoro have guaranteed orbs, and you just have to farm two of the remaining three orbs in any position during the stalling, and switch them with doffy.

And then boom damage doubled with ikuzo

Both are great choices, with Suleiman you just have to farm one int orb in any position for a full board, with Maynard you can delay (if possible) to be sure you can double ikuzo the next turn without getting rekt.

But shanks has a big advantage at the moment, 5 juicy sockets. The other two aren't socketable yet, not even in JPN.

I don't know if the turtle time calculator is working again/anymore because I stopped bothering because it kept going down and I have no units to really level until I pull in 2nd Anniversary, but if it is working try and run turtle time and get the important units to around level 80 to start with.

Don't run pig beach because you won't be able to keep up with the baby turtles to evolve them, just do the fortnights and level the units that relate to the colour the fortnight is dropping, that's really the best advice. I'm swimming in PSY/INT pigs at the moment with absolutely nothing to level up and was the same with QCK pigs until Colo Apoo came.

Pig island is a good idea, but you keys will be used up pretty fast. I hope you have Baccarat, if now use a least a friend one.

Most important is Turtle Time, every monday and friday. Try to save your stamina for it. Using gems to refill is also a good idea, but wait with that until you have more stamina.

This is my mindset already but where I'm really torn is on captain abilities that affect Orb RNG like SW Shanks and figure you may as well hedge your bets by maxing out that chance of a matching Orb because it's what you pick him for anyway.

But then on somebody like SW Ace I really like the idea of having DR as the main focus because you've got short cooldown Orb manipulation anyway and his HP is so huge that with DR your effective HP just goes up even higher.

Lucky I have neither of these Legends so I don't have to commit to one or the other at the moment, but I did socket 1 of my 2 Zephyr's with AH/DR so I'm kind of committed in that regard if I ever pull SW Ace.

For Shanks, you already have Tesoro, Rakuyo, so many high quality PSY orb manipulators. So you don't need it for burst turns. So DR is the way to go, ESPECIALLY since Shanks is such a cuck captain that he loses damage when he takes hits, so you need to have as much survivability as you can.

The true answer is that Orb and DR doesn't matter at all.
You shouldnt plan your socket for one team, because the day you'll have to switch one of your character for another, you'll want to keep Bind/Despair/AH/CDR and you'll regret putting Orbs/DR on a <5 socket unit.
So it's only good for 5 socket unit. And then it's so insignificant that the best solution is to go with the one luck gives you.

If you have the socket space to use dr on someone, you're either going to be ignoring more important sockets, which includes if said unit(s) would be interchangable subs for other teams, or have to deal with lvl 1 Dr which only blocks 3% iirc. At that point you may as well run focus band, seeing as they would have about the same odds of being useful.

Yeah but it's a different kind. Dr can come in handy if you've got say 8k health left and the boss hits for 8.2k. But if you say need an extra turn of hard hitting damage and you already used or orb manips last turn, than orbs can come on handy.
Basicall, (in my opinion mind you) Dr is more practical but orbs can be more of a lifesaver.

I definitely feel like with the HP meta that's arising out of Japan (expect to see A LOT more 5+/6+ units with their buff being a HP modifier) that DR is going to be straight up better in the long run. With units like Tesoro, Kanjuro, Kinemon etc starting to come out that are quite heavy, single unit Orb manipulators that Orbs socket is losing so much more worth everyday.
You're never going to bring a team that doesn't have an Orb manipulator and you're never (or more, should never) rely on RNG to win you a fight EVER. Effective HP is going to be immensely valuable as the game progresses.
